problems with scp
I have an openssh server running on solaris 7 and the client running on
a clean RH linux 6.1 box. I am using the latest release (2.1.1p1 -- i
had the known solaris utmp problem and the read_key problem when using
2.1.0p2 so i upgraded).
scp from the linux machine to solaris machine gives a "lost connection"
message

sshd hangs on logout -- is this a bug?
In the changelog, there is an entry:
20001129
- (djm) Back out all the serverloop.c hacks. sshd will now hang again
if there are background children with open fds.
Does this mean that this is regarded as expected (and correct) behavior, that
should not change in the future, or does it mean that this behavior is a
known problem that someone will eventually fix?

OpenSSH solaris: bad return code after exec of remote command
Hi OpenSSH developers,
I am using openSSH (now 2.9.9p2, but prob occurs in 2.9p2 also) to execute
commands on a remote machine which outputs data to stdout then pipes it to
another invocation of ssh which connects back to the first machine in the same
way, where it starts a program to read and store the output from the command on
the second machine. I am using the "command" option in

[Lutz.Jaenicke@aet.TU-Cottbus.DE: 2.9p1: HP-UX 10.20 utmp/wtmp handling broken?]
Hi!
I am resending the following message about problems with utmp handling.
* In the meantime I had some request in private mail from people asking
whether I have new information.
* The problem is still persistant in 2.9p2.
* My own new investigations show, that the problem only appears with
protocol 2, not with protocol 1, I therefore only started to note it
when protocol 2 became the

Multi language pages (access @session from a model)
Hi,
I''m creating a simple Ruby on Rails based CMS. It will support multiple
languages. Therefore I''ve a table ''pages'' and a table
''page_translations''. The table ''page'' contains a title and body in the
default language, the table ''page_translations'' contain a title and body
for an other language.

OpenSSH sshd: per-user restrictions and scp-only
Greetings!
Non-list subscriber, so please be sure to include me on replies.
I want to be abut to set up sshd so that I can restrict the remote user's
activities. In particular, I want...
1. no shell. I want them to be able to do scp and maybe port forwarding,
but I DO NOT want them to be able to start up any shell or anything else!
2. i want to be able to restrict them to be able to do

scp problems?
Hi. So I have been having problems using scp to copy
files between two of my machines, both of which are running OpenSSH
2.30p1 (though I've had the same problem with previous versions).
It is basically as simple as the file not being transferred after
authentication occurs. I can however use scp to copy files back and
forth from another machine using a SSH Communications version

sshd does not exit after scp (hpux 11.00 / ssh 2.1.1p1)
Hello,
I have encountered a problem using ssh-2.1.1p1 on HP-UX 11.00:
Everything else seems to work but running scp results in processes staying open:
On the server there are 2 processes still running after copying a file: "scp -v
-t /tmp"
and one sshd. On the client also a ssh-process stays running until killing one
of
the processes manually...
The copying works fine however.

X11 forwarding does not work as normal user
We installed openssh 3.1p1 on our Solaris 2.8 machine using gcc 2.95.2. During
the installation, we modified ssh_config and sshd_config to enable X11 and
agent forwarding.
In sshd_config, we changed the following line to read:
X11Forwarding yes
In ssh_config, we changed the following two lines to read:
ForwardAgent yes
ForwardX11 yes
Both files are set to permission readable

scp problem
Hello.
Since some days I cannot use scp anymore but ssh login work. Reinstall
did not help. I do not exactly what has changed but I now it used to
work.
sshd runs on a firewall-bastion host (Linux SuSE 9.2).
Firewall is open on port 22 for local network. Even tried all open (in
and outgoing).
Between the clent and the firewall-bastion is another nat-router. Works
with ssh, though.

scp not shutting down in 2.1.1p4
Hi!
as I just noted, after scp the connection does not shut down properly.
When I do a "scp file targethost:path", on targethost a "sshd" process is
left running. I do use
--with-default-path="/usr/local/openssh/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin"
to assure, that the corrensponding openssh-scp is used.
It also seems, that normal sessions are not always closed properly.
