Problem with VFS audit and recycle
Is there anyone running Samba 3.0.X on Solaris 8 that has VFS working? I am dying to know if this is a problem with my setup or if there is something else going on. If you do have it working, please let me know which module. Thanks. Problems with SIP invite due to long ping round trips
Hi, I'm installing asterisk 1.0.5 for a partner in China. Since the ping round trip takes typically 600 msec, I doubt, whether voice quality will we satisfying, but that is currently not my concern. The problem is, that most SIP phones or software (e.g. SJPhone) do resend the invite request, after approx 500 msec (measured by ethereal). chan_sip from asterisk seems to have a special

MS autoroute express (a.k.a. mappoint or "street and trips")
Hi I attempted to run MS Autoroute Express 2005 on wine 20050211. (I believe this fantastic product is marketed also under the names MapPoint and "Street and Trips" depending on market and target). I had wine setup done by winetools: basic setup, ie6, arial, ms installer. i installed the product directly from cd (*) the installer forced an update on the system (to update its office

Domain authentication failing after a period of time
I am having an unusual bit of behavior with a recently upgraded 3.0.8 installation (from 3.0.2a). I upgraded the server and retained the secrets.tdb file. The server itself is using security = domain, and it had been joined to the domain prior to the upgrade. Now, once I started the new version, I couldn't log on, and would get the error "There are no logon servers available to service

Making a zvol unavailable to iSCSI trips up ZFS
I''ve been experimenting with a two system setup in snv_134 where each system exports a zvol via COMSTAR iSCSI. One system imports both its own zvol and the one from the other system and puts them together in a ZFS mirror. I manually faulted the zvol on one system by physically removing some drives. What I expect to happen is that ZFS will fault the zvol pool and the iSCSI stack will

EOL in stderr of ssh - Linux
Hello everyone, recently I've found something I consider a bug. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought that Linux' EOL is 0x0A. Imagine my surprise when I saw that all messages that are being output on to the stderr (on any Linux I've tested - Fedora and Ubuntu) are terminated with 0x0D, 0x0A. Maybe that's standard behaviour of all stderr messages in all Linux

Samba disappearing from WINS
We are running samba 2.0.4b to provide corporate print services. Everything with regards to printing is working like a charm. However, twice in the past two weeks, some of our Samba servers have disappeared from the WINS servers. The WINS servers are NT servers running 4.0SP5. The strangest part was that in one occurrence, it was the lone samba server at one location, but in the other
