Segfaults with ssh from Red Hat 6.2 openssh-clients-2.5.1p2-1.i386.rpm
The segfault logged below occurs on two different Red Hat 6.2 systems running OpenSSH installed from the 2.5.1p2 RPM. (Similar problems occured with the 2.5.1p1 RPM.) The most recent of the Red Hat 6.2 systems tested is stock except for an upgrade of rpm-3.0.5-9.6x.i386.rpm and the install of Red Hat's release of openssl-0.9.5a-3.i386.rpm, both necessary for the OpenSSH RPM install. FAQ for Red Hat 6.x is now confusing with RHEL 6.0 and 6.1 releases.
The old entry in the FAQ, quoted below, is now confusing through no fault of the FAQ author. > 3.5 - Password authentication doesn't work (eg on Slackware 7.0 or Red Hat 6.x) The problem is that Red Hat has now published Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0 and 6.1, normally written RHEL 6.0. Some software purchasers and new admins are not aware that Red Hat 6.0 was actually the name of a much

MD5 passwords in Red Hat Linux 6.1
Hello, Recently I realized that entering first 8 characters from my root password is enough to log in as root although I've enabled MD5 passwords in installation program. Also I've added two other users during installation. After looking through /etc/shadow it seems that root's password isn't md5 although passwords of other two users are md5. Is it correct behaviour? Setting up Samba on Red Hat Linux 6.1
pn] I'm trying to set up Samba on a Linux Red Hat 6.1 machine. Other machines on my network are NT4 and Win98. I generally followed a NHT, except that I have a domain using user-level access for shares instead of a share-level access. I couldn't get it to work, and tried diagnosing it using the document at http://us1.samba.org/samba/docs/DIAGNOSIS.html. Several tests are not working as

segfault with readDCF on R 3.1.2 on AIX 6.1 when using install.packages
Hi there, I just wanted to follow up on this readDCF issue with install.packages on AIX on R 3.*. I'm happy to help try potential solutions or debug if anyone could point me in the right direction. To re-cap, it appears readDCF is segfault'ing since R 3.* on AIX. This was not the case up until R 2.15.3. This makes install.packages not usable. Thanks. -- Vinh On Tue, Nov 11, 2014 at
