link statically
hi,
i have downloaded the linux-version of openssh-3.0.2p1. i wanted
to compile it statically with the following configure-statement:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/opt/openssh-3.0.2p1 --with-pam
--with-md5-passwords --with-v4-default --with-ldflags=-static
--with-ssl-dir=/usr/local/opt/openssl
It worked for the older 2.9 version, but now i get the following error:
gcc -o ssh ssh.o

policies
Hi,
I have set up samba to enable Domain-Logons for windows95/98.
I am using Samba-1.9.18p7. I have a share netlogon with
a batchfile for connection network drives. Everything is working.
But when I create a policies file and put it onto the netlogon
share windows doesn't use it. I have named it config.pol. Is there
another special thing to configure?
I have found archives of this

multiple definition of `optind'
Any ideas of the best way around this problem? Should I just hack the
source code, or is there a magic switch somewhere I'm missing? I'm
assuming I can't just dismiss that function as OpenSSH is probably
based on the OpenBSD semantics.

samba and win95-login
Hi,
I want to set up samba and win95 so that password checking is made
via samba and also some login scripts are started. I have changed
windows setup to login on NT-Domain with my samba's hostname as DOMAIN.
I also have enabled wins support on win95. But after reboot, when I am
asked for user, password and domain I always get an error message,

[Bug 306] ssh on Tru64 returns " Name does not resolv to supplied parameters"
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=306
------- Additional Comments From cmadams at hiwaay.net 2002-06-28 00:31 -------
I'm not seeing this on Tru64 4.0G or 5.1A with OpenSSH 3.4p1. What does
"rsh [server]" say? Are you using IPv6?

Playback of sound files but no sound
Hello,
I'm running asterisk-1.0.6 on a centos3.4 box.
I'm still in testing phase and so far everything is running smoothly.
I'm now trying to play a soundfile or an mp3file using 'MP3Player',
'Playback'
or the 'Background' commands, but don't get any sound.
The logfile says:

3.0.2p1 under IRIX (coredumps)
Hello,
I am unable to build a working OpenSSH 3.0.2p1 for IRIX 6.5 using either
1. gcc 2.95.3 + binutils 2.11.2
2. SGI MIPSpro cc, CC=cc, LD=/usr/bin/ld, CFLAGS='-mips3 -n32'
Under both setups:
- zlib seems to build fine
- OpenSSL seems to build fine and tests out okay
- OpenSSH builds, and then:

static compilation
I had the same problem compiling openssh-3.0.2p1 statically on Slackware 8.0.
The problem is caused by the redefinition of opterr, optind, and optopt in
openbsd-compat/getopt.c (previously defined in libc).
Here's how I was able to get it to build statically:
1. ./configure
2. edit openbsd-compat/getopt.c

tftp-hpa: getopt problems
Hi!
I hope this is the right list for sending tftpd-patches - if not, please point
me in the right direction...
I experienced quite strange problems when trying to use tftp-hpa in newer
Cygwin versions. It simply isn't able to parse its command line correctly
because it seems to use another optind variable than getopt().
When you try to start it with something like
tftpd.exe -s /mypath
