bind segfault in conjunction with dbus - what to change?
Hi all, I have a problem running bind on C5.4 when the messagebus service is activated. When I switch off the dbus message service bind runs well. With dbus activated bind crashes with a segfault. How can I get rid of this error? What shall I change? SElinux (the source of most unexpedted things) is switched off. Following versions are installed: bind-9.3.6-4.P1.el5

[PATCH]: Remove HAVE_CYGWIN in favor of NO_IPPORT_RESERVED_CONCEPT
Hi, I've sent that patch once already but it seems more or less forgotten in the tumultuous days of the latest vulnerability. It adds a new define NO_IPPORT_RESERVED_CONCEPT which can be defined on platforms not supporting the concept of "privileged" ports only accessible by privileged users but which allow everyone to use these ports. This patch removes some Cygwin dependencies

Patch for a port forwarding problem in serverloop.c
Hello all, I encountered a problem when trying to setup a remote portforward using OpenSSH 3.5p1. If the port that I was trying to listen to on the remote side was already in use, a message 'cannot bind to port: 5000' was written to the syslog, but the connection still persisted. I had no way on the client side to know that the listening wasn't taking place. that is, the

[PATCH 6/12] bug fix: openssh-4.3p2 memory leak
cancel_address is allocated in packet_get_string and used in the call to channel_cancel_rport_listener and then it goes out of scope. This patch adds the xfree. This entire set of patches passed the regression tests on my system. Resource leak bug found by Coverity. Tru64 Unix vs. OpenSSH 2.9p2
Hi, We installed OpenSSH 2.9p2 with OpenSSL 0.9.6b on our Compaq Alpha ES40 running Tru64 Unix 5.0a. We've been having problems where one of our users appears in the output of "w" and is associated with a pseudoterminal even though he has no processes attached to that pty. The problem can be reproduced by connecting to the localhost host via ssh using protocol version 2, and then

SCO 3.2v4.2 and OpenSSH -current --> connection hangs and does no t close
Greetings, I have a problem with OpenSSH -current and SCO 3.2v4.2, when I execute a remote command or exit from a session, the connection hangs, ( line 326 of serverloop.c). This problem only exists when using ssh2. server side debug (-d -d -d ): debug1: Received SIGCHLD. debug2: channel 0: read failed debug2: channel 0: close_read debug2: channel 0: input open -> drain debug2: channel 0:

Sneek peak at what was commited.
For those following the portable CVS tree.. I'd suggest holding off for a day or so unless you really want to get dirty. I just commited 32 patches from the OpenBSD tree, but have not worked out all the issues (due to Linux brain damage <sigh..Faster OpenBSD gets SMP..the happer I'll be>). The two things that need to be finished integrated in the configure.in is KRB5 and

New dynamic window patch (with limits)
As before, it is described on our website. This should apply fairly cleanly to both portable and openbsd ssh. http://www.psc.edu/networking/hpn-ssh/ Only in openssh-3.8.1p1-dynwindow: Makefile diff -u openssh-3.8.1p1/buffer.c openssh-3.8.1p1-dynwindow/buffer.c --- openssh-3.8.1p1/buffer.c 2003-11-21 07:56:47.000000000 -0500 +++ openssh-3.8.1p1-dynwindow/buffer.c 2004-07-12 07:49:29.000000000

OpenSSH 2.3.0p1: Broken pipe / SIGPIPE
Dear OpenSSH gurus! ;-) I recently upgraded from "OpenSSH 2.1.1p4" to "OpenSSH 2.3.0p1" on my Linux 2.2.17 box with OpenSSL 0.9.5a (RedHat 7.0). According to the "ChangeLog", there was a change in SIGPIPE handling: | 20000930 | [...] | - (djm) Ignore SIGPIPEs from serverloop to child. Fixes crashes with | very short lived X connections. DynamicWindow Patch
We have developed a patch that enables changing the SSH window size using the tcp window size as the source. This allows SSH to obtain maximum use of the bandwidth on high BDP links. We also have a page that describes the changes and performance. http://www.psc.edu/~rapier/hpn-ssh/ The patch against CVS is included here. Common subdirectories: src/usr.bin/ssh/CVS and ssh/CVS diff -u

sshd problem on Solaris 7: Control-C hangs shell
I have a strange problem with sshd (from openssh-2.9p2) on Solaris 7. My shell is bash. When I open an ssh session , and type a Control-C to bash's prompt, the shell hangs. (But, if I for instance run "sleep 10" (during which time the pty is in cooked mode) and press Control-C, the sleep command is interrupted quite normally, and the bash prompt returns.) Adding some debugging

Idletimeout patch, third attempt
Here is my third attempt at the idletimeout patch. I tried to address the points which Marcus Friedl brought up. It is actually bigger than the previous patches, but not as intrusive. It is big because it moves some stuff from serverloop.c to packet.c. - I moved all the logic to packet.c. This means that I also had to move the actual select() call, which used to be in serverloop.c to packet.c.

(no subject)
Hi, I'm not on the openss-unix-dev mailing list, but I want to ask about a feature that I've put into my local implementation of OpenSSH the past year or so, and I wanted to know if it was worthwile to add it to the sources so that I don't have to add it myself each time I upgrade... About a year ago I was working for a company that wanted to use OpenSSH as a server (on a Linux
