Strange battery power shortage on an Unitek iZi UPS 525
Hi everyone, I've been using nut 2.0.3 for more than a year on a Unitek iZi UPS 525 (which is a rebadged Mustek). Everything worked fine and last week, when pressed by RENEL :-) I ran a battery test which showed the system to have 17min of back-up power (yes, still haven't figured out how to use upssched...) The system used for testing was an old PIII/500MHz/512KB cache, 256MB RAM (3 x

new clamav update miss 'clamav' user/group creation/update
Hi folks, Just updating clamav 'bundle' from old 'clamav-server' (i think the just previous) and i noticed that the 'clamav' user/group for this pkg is not created by default by the rpm pkg. At the same time, the /var/log/clamav is not updated/created with clamav.clamav ownership, Don't know if it is my actual config (previous one untouched anyway), but this is what

NUT v2.7.1 - Not working on UPS SOLA BASIC SR MICRONET XRN-21-481
Hi Charles! Thanks a lot for your response. Now I figure why the isbmex driver was not working. On the other hand I've tried to run the command suggested. But no success. I got this information when running the dmesg command after running the modprobe $ sudo modprobe ftdi_sio vendor=0x0483 product=0x0035 [35816.111760] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbserial [35816.111792]

7.1-stable (righ after release) locks up on soekris net5501 every day
Hello, Freebsd-stable. I installed 7.1-STABLE on my new Soekris net5501. Kernel config is in attach. This unit lock up in strange way every day. It is pingable, but no access to host on any network protocol (sshd, named, etc are not answering), and serial console (only one this unit has) DOESN'T ANSWER too! Only way to un-freeze it is cold reboot. I've thought, it is

Newer version of ftdi_sio
I have just bought an FTDI USB UART New USB device found, idVendor=0403, idProduct=6015 New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 Product: FT231X USB UART Manufacturer: FTDI However this appears to be slightly too new for the ftdi_sio driver in C6.4; it's not detected. If I force it modprobe ftdi_sio vendor=0x0403 product=0x6015 then it gets detected as a

Attach a GPS in preboot mode
Hello everyone and best wishes for 2023 :) I have an old *Garmin Drive Smart 50 GPS* and I want to be able to attach it when it is in preboot mode to a VM hosted by a *Debian 11 host*. From what I understand, the preboot mode allows us to flash a firmware before the GPS actually starts (used among other things when the GPS is soft bricked). When I connect the GPS to the host it gives:

Question about "generic" USB <=> Serial Port kernel drivers...
OK, I am running CentOS 6 on my Laptop and Desktop, presently kernel version 2.6.32-696.20.1.el6.x86_64 (yes, a version or so out of date -- I'll probably do an update soon -- non-trivial since my Internet connection is via dialup). I recently bought a couple of Adafruit Arduino compatibles, a Flora and a Metro 328. Hooking up the Flora and the Metro to a Raspberry Pi running Raspbian

3ware disk failure -> hang
I've got an i386 server running centos 4.2 with 3 3ware controllers in it -- an 8006-2 for the system disks and 2 7500-8s. On the 7500s, I'm running an all software RAID50. This morning I came in to find the system hung. Turns out a disk went overnight on one of the 7500s, and rather than a graceful failover I got this: Jan 6 01:03:58 $SERVER kernel: 3w-xxxx: scsi2: Command
