issues with SSOAP when wsdl has ComplexTypes
I recently started trying R and SSOAP and was able to successfully try a "hello
world" service. I am now trying to get a more complicated interface to work with
SSOAP and so far failed miserably at that and so need any help I can
get from here.
The service I am attaching is a prototype for a full service that would
take information to identify a data source and a query to run and

SAS to R - if you have SAS 8.2+
Hi there,
the attached R function uses the SAS Integrated Object
Model (IOM) and it can deal with SAS dates and long
variable names. All you need to provide is the folder
where the SAS data file is and the data file name
without the extension. The function requires the rcom
package.
This is meant to be first cut...but improvements and
suggestions are more than welcome!

Now I installed XEN but system doe not boot as the boot device seems not to

[PATCH] Connect timeout
The attached patch adds a new 'ConnectTimeout' option (man page updated
in patch) to avoid wasting time when the target host is down. I needed that
because I was using rsync/rdist over ssh for massive files update and the
default connect() took too long for my purpose.
The patch was tested on Linux only, but I used a similar one for ssh 1.2.XX
on Linux, Solaris and HP-UX without

ridge regression - covariance matrices of ridge coefficients
For an application of ridge regression, I need to get the covariance
matrices of the estimated regression
coefficients in addition to the coefficients for all values of the ridge
contstant, lambda.
I've studied the code in MASS:::lm.ridge, but don't see how to do this
because the code is vectorized using
one svd calculation. The relevant lines from lm.ridge, using X, Y are:

[patch] openssh 3.0.2p1: Libwrap gets linked in unnecessarily
Hello,
There is a small but annoying problem with linking libwrap in openssh.
The library is added to LIBS which makes it be linked in to all binaries.
This is unnecessary and leads to bogus dependencies if libwrap is a shared
library.
Following is a trivial fix that reserves a separate autoconf substitution
variable LIBWRAP, which is only used for sshd. Please apply.

Weighting Schemes: Evaluation results
Hi,
Evaluation of pivoted normalization ("PPP") of tf-idf weighting scheme is
also complete now. I have also evaluated the default tf-idf normalization
("ntn") and other normalizations combinations involving pivoted
normalization in wdfn, idfn and wtn component as "Pxx", "xPx" and "xxP"
normalization strings respectively to have a clear idea about

about nmap
Dear all!
Last evening I've noticed that
my 5.2 box had strange result
about nmap search. One port is
randomly open when I look from
user account. From root everything
looks as expected. The comp is
most time out of internet. The
last thing was adding "expect"
package. I am not paniced, could
be hiting... Or something in
"expect" package... It is random

Xen rebooting Dom-0 machine with nmap
Ok,
I''ve completely reinstalled Xen and I am still encountering the most curious
problem.
I set up a virtual network of eight domains: three are on a virtual DMZ
network (10.0.1.0/24), four are on a virtual internal network (10.0.2.0/24),
and a router connects the two.
All the domains can ping each other and traceroute-ing between them shows
the proper network structure (first hop:

[Bug 78] -m psd -j TARPIT returns all ports open from nmap
https://bugzilla.netfilter.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=78
------- Additional Comments From tools@die.net 2003-04-17 15:47 -------
Showing any ports open that are sent to it is the normal function of TARPIT
target. The psd match will start routing all ports to it after it decides that
an IP is portscanning, so this is the expected behavior.
That being said, the psd match won't

nmap showing lots of ports open that shouldn't be
I have a CentOS 4.2 machine. lokkit shows that a firewall is
enabled, and it is customized to allow SSH, Web, and DNS traffic only.
But if I run nmap against the server IP (from my home machine,
outside the local network) it shows over 1000 open ports. Am I not
understanding nmap, or is there something seriously wrong here?
Here is a small snip of the nmap output (I can include it all if
