early shutdown of VMware VMs
I'm new to NUT, but didn't find a clear answer to this either in the
recent "ordered shutdown" thread or in Google:
How to shut down VMWare guest virtual machines earlier than the host
machine they run on? (For example, if everything normally shuts down at
5% UPS battery, then the VMs should shut down at 10%.)
I also read upssched.txt but I can't tell from the early

Files >2GB?
OpenSSH 2.9p2 portable doesn't seem to like files >2GB.
Is there an option for this, or a way to enable file transfers of files
>2GB using scp or sftp?
TIA

bind_address ignored? as in "ssh -R [bind_address]:12491:127.0.0.1:500"
No answers on secureshell at securityfocus.com
I must be doing something wrong or the server seems to ignore my bind request.
Port forwarding is working it just bind to all ips and ignores my bind
request. I've also tried this with an rfc1918 address opposed to a
loopback and had the same results.
Google and the archive haven't helped.
Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

ssh -R limitations?
Hi there!
I've a couple of questions on -R feature:
Here is my situation:
PC_A has a private IP, ssh client and has a service I want to see from the
internet.
PC_B is a linux firewall (public IP) where there is an open port that
forwards all traffic to PC_C (ssh server on port 22) which is in PC_B LAN.
I want to create a tunnel from PC_A to PC_C to access a service on PC_A from

Does OpenSSH 3.x support KRB5 directly?
Just curious. There seems to be an awful lot in the source, but no
actual configure option.
Please advise.

Prototype.js and Coremetrics eluminate.js issues
Hi,
I am trying to use prototype.js on a JSP that also contains some
javascript from Coremetrics (eluminate.js). Coremetrics is used for
tracking marketing clicks.
When I have both of these javascript imports on the page I get
javascript errors in the eluminate.js file. I get javascript errors
that say "Undeterminate string constant."
It looks like the prototype.js file is somehow

OpenSSH 3.1p1 on Linux Slackware 8 with KERBEROS v5 support
Hello,
I have a little question and this regarding the compilation of the latest
release of OpenSSH on a Linux Slackware version 8 box. We are currently
using Kerberos 5 for user authentification and I saw that in SSH there is
only an option to configure called: --with-kerberos4, so my question is:
what do I need to do to get Kerberos 5 support into OpenSSH ?
I am using the MIT kerberos version

Converting keys from commercial ssh
I'm not sure if this is useful to anyone else, but around here people are
insisting we use key-ed authentication with windows clients and Unix servers
over SSH protocol version 2.
I couldn't find a free windows client that would meet those requirements.
The closest was PuTTY, but it would only use password authentication with
SSH2. In the end, this means we will probably have to go with

Status of KRB5 support?
Just curious. I'd like to move up to 3.1px since there are security
updates associated with it.
Also, any pointers on implementing an kerberized external login server
would be helpful.
TIA
