[PATCH] fix for Linux hang on exit bug in 2.9.9p2
As you are now probably aware, the portability team for openssh still has not fixed the hang-on-exit bug in the 2.9.9p2 release. Attached is a patch for 2.9.9p2 that fixes the hang-on-exit bug for Linux systems. It also adds a useful exit delay feature that has also not yet been incorporated into the main sources. For more information, see the SNFS (secure NFS) web page:

[PATCH] Add an exit delay to Openssh-3.0.2p1 for use in tunneling
Here is a patch to implement an exit delay in OpenSSH-3.0.2p1, proposed by John Hardin. This is his description of the feature: New option for OpenSSH: Delay before exit. Command line option: -S delay Config file option: sleep {delay} Purpose: Wait the specified number of seconds after last traffic before dropping the connection and exiting. If ports are forwarded, this causes the ssh client

connect() timeout patch.
Hello all, I am wondering where one would submit a patch to OpenSSH cvs version? I have written a patch that allows the user to set a timeout the ssh clients connection attempt. I added this because many of us use ssh in automated scripts and in some cases machines may no longer be reachable, rather than wait you can set the timeout to say 3 seconds (-z switch). -- Larry Cashdollar

Dovecot proxy: per user/domain 'namespace/inbox/prefix' from MySQL
As a way to try and avoid using "prefix = INBOX." ad infinitum for the inbox namespace, I'm looking for ways to move on to "prefix =" for new mail accounts, and grandfather the existing ones. Previously running Courier-IMAP, now Dovecot, I looked at https://wiki.dovecot.org/Namespaces#Backwards_Compatibility:_Courier_IMAP and decided it's too risky to go down that

Name based SSH proxy
I am working on a proxy which can be hosted on a single IP address and dispatch requests to different backends depending on which hostname the client used to connect to this IP address. Currently such a proxy can be build to support HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, and DNS. However SSH support is impossible due to the ssh client not sending the information such a proxy would need. I am not the first to want

connection_in and connection_out
Hi, I'm a newbie to openssh and was trying to read the source code recently. Could anyone tell me why in sshd the connection_in and connection_out are the same(seems to be integer 3 in my machine). connection_in is used in process_input(readset), and connection_out is used in process_output(writeset); But how does it work if it tries to read and write from the same file descriptor? /Bob

PostgreSQL driver supporting [round-robin] load balancing and redundancy [LONG]
One of the things my employer uses dovecot for is as mail download server for an 'e-mail purification service' (AV/ anti-spam) for smartphones. The service itself presently runs on a rented server somewhere in the UK and the corresponding 'web service' front-end and user account/ mail account database resides on a server in Germany. The UK dovecot server uses the PostgreSQL server

Force Winbind Domain
Hi all, Is there any way to force Winbind to auhenticate against a certain domain even if another was specified? I'm currently having problems authenticating some users on squid as they seem to inform the wrong domain. I can see messages like these on my cache log: Login for user [PROXY1]\[USERNAME]@[WRKSTATION] failed due to [No such user] The problem is that our domain is not called

Idletimeout patch, third attempt
Here is my third attempt at the idletimeout patch. I tried to address the points which Marcus Friedl brought up. It is actually bigger than the previous patches, but not as intrusive. It is big because it moves some stuff from serverloop.c to packet.c. - I moved all the logic to packet.c. This means that I also had to move the actual select() call, which used to be in serverloop.c to packet.c.

Domain member seems to work, wbinfo -u not (update3)
Ok some new info. Yesterday file server worked, print server not. Today, both dont work. Same test today, proxy1 and proxy2. Proxy1 didnt work, proxy2 did ( at that time 4.3.6) I upgraded (to 4.3.8) proxy2, tested again, still working. Ok, now this proxy 2 is an vm ( a copy of proxy1 ), so lets try something.. I remove proxy2 from the ad domain (proxy1 is our main proxy) so this one is

Patch to allow checking of v1 keys on remote host.
The attached patch for 4.6p1 adds a feature (-u) that will check to see if a key exists on a remote host. I use this for auditing my users transition to v2 keys very useful. If there is any interest I'll provide a patch for v2 ssh keys also. http://vapid.dhs.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=vapidlabs:openssh_check_key_patch -- Thanks Larry --- orig/openssh-4.6p1/sshconnect1.c 2006-11-07

request.host, proxy chains and HTTP_X_FORWARDED_HOST
Hi, We''ve an application that uses url_for in controllers and views. In views, url_for generates a relative url (as if :only_path where used). All is fine there. However, in controllers, url_for generates a full url, with the host name. This causes problems when we have a chain of Apache proxy servers: My Browser ---> Proxy 1 ----> Proxy 2 ----> Phusion Deployment Server. In

proxy settings
Hi all, I used to connect internet via a proxy. Before update packages I wrote in R Sys.putenv("http_proxy"="http://proxy3.redegov.sp.gov.br:80/") Nevertheless the way the connection is done has changed. For example, in the browser the proxy is not indicated and I have to give an username and a password to have access to internet. I read the FAQ and the help for

[PATCH] cleanup of global variables server/client_version_string in sshconnect.c
In sshconnect.c there are two global variables for server_version_string client_version_string. These are used just in a few functions and can easily be passed as parameters. Also, there is a strange construct, where their memory is allocated to the global pointers, then copies of these pointers are assigned to the kex structure. The kex_free finally frees them via cleanup of the kex
