Okay, I have tested mounting several of my apps under Lighttpd and Apache, both running FastCGI. I''m going to explain the configuration, but first: update. gem install camping --source code.whytheluckstiff.net == Mounting Root for Lighttpd+FastCGI == server.port = 3045 server.bind = "192.168.0.103" server.modules = (

lighttpd + fastcgi + camping
Hello all, I am running in some little stumbling blocks with passenger as a multi user environment (the most problematic feature is that, once you setup a sub-domain passenger wants you to declare on nginx every app running on that nginx server which is not ideal to add apps on the fly and / or if a user wants to run 2 apps from his space) so I was thinking about a more drag a drop / one line

Run fastcgi in Apache 1.3, or proxy through lighttpd?
I''m working with a guy who has Apache 1.3 installed on his server, and it''s not an option to simply use lighttpd for a Rails application I''m helping him with. I''ve seen that Apache 2 apparently is crappy when it comes to fastcgi, but 1.3 isn''t so bad. I can then either just run my app straight in Apache, or I could proxy it through to lighttpd. Which

Lighttpd and fastcgi problems...
Hi, I''m having difficulty getting ruby running via Lighttpd and fastcgi. My lighttpd.conf reads: server.port = 81 server.pid-file = "/tmp/test_lighttpd.pid" server.modules = ( "mod_redirect", "mod_access", "mod_fastcgi", "mod_accesslog", "mod_simple_vhost" ) server.document-root = "/tmp/mis/public"

Anyone use a Rio Cali Sport with CentOS 4.2?
My wife does and here's the problem. It automatically mounts the flash memory of the player. But it doesn't mount the SD card slot. I used Ubuntu 5.10 recently and it mounted both of them. Both as separate USB sticks. How do I get CentOS to do the same thing? Or can it not discern that two USB flash devices are plugged in? Preston

Does anyone use VMWare 4.5.2 on CentOS 4?
I'm trying to use my copy and whenever I reboot I have to reconfigure everything again using vmware-config.pl. Any idea why I might have to do this? Is there something about the way services are setup under CentOS 4 or something? Preston

Here is the action from the controller: ------------------- def crashme @orders = Order.find(:all, :order => "`id` ASC", :offset

Check version of RubyGems, FastCGI, PCRE / uninstall
I followed hivelogic article on how to install Ror and Lighttpd on Mac OS. http://hivelogic.com/articles/2005/12/01/ruby_rails_lighttpd_mysql_tiger But I''m not sure I got Lighttpd in the right place. If I do "which lighttpd" and "lighttpd -v" I get answers from the terminal: /usr/local/sbin/lighttpd lighttpd-1.4.11 - a light and fast webserver But I

dispatch.fcgi hanging after lighttpd shutdown
Hi. I''m using RoR 1.0 with FastCGI and lighttpd on a Debian 3.1 box. I have configured lighttpd to do adaptive spawning of the FastCGI processes. However, after shutting down lighttpd the FastCGI processes remain running. Did this problem occur to anyone of you? Is there a fix? I''d be really grateful for every answer. Running on Fedora Core I have been playing with some of the tutorials and one of them had me install lighttpd and lighttpd-fastcgi and that was much faster than apache seems to be. How do I get fastcgi stuff to work on apache... I have this setup for my tutorial environment in httpd.conf <VirtualHost *> DocumentRoot /home/craig/cookbook/public ServerName cookbook <Directory

lighttpd/fastcgi - where does stdout go?
i''m using lighty and fastcgi in my rails production environment. standard output appears to get swallowed up somewhere... it''s clearly not coming out of the development log. don''t know where to look for it. is this a byproduct of running in production mode? is there a way to turn this off? thanks, paul

I''ve got a Fedora Core 4 machine that I''m installing Ruby on Rails on, following this set of instructions: http://www.digitalmediaminute.com/howto/fc4rails/ Everything has gone well up until I get to the part about configuring lighttpd to use virtual hosts.
