Hi Toni, This error is the result of a test that samba does in the module "server_validate", (in password.c) to check the password server for a bug where NT 4 (some versions) would not correctly set the guest bit. I need to change the host name on a test server, and in the past when I used hostname to change the hostname, it did not seem to change it everywhere. After upgrading to 3.0.7 we've had 4 panics, all within seconds of each other. Unfortunately I'm not sure what users were doing at that time. I didn't notice this until reviewing the logs later.
