CTRL-C behaviour with RODBC on Solaris2.8
After loading the RODBC package version 1.1-7, Ctrl-C changes its
behaviour and is quitting R and returning to the (unix-)command prompt
on the solaris2.8 platform here. Here's what happened before and after
loading RODBC

Prebuilt binaries for Sparc Solaris2.8
Hello,
since a few days I'm fascinated by rsync and could successfully build
rsync on the machine I'm the admin of, it was easy to mirror several
sites we are providing on our ftp server.
These few words only for introduction.
Well, as far as I have seen there are no prebuilt binaries for more
actual versions of Solaris than Solaris2.5.1. What I would like to offer
you is that I can

Daily snapshots...
All,
How can I get at the daily snapshots?
When I go to the website, www.openssh.com, and follow the Linux
link to portable.html and then go to request the daily snapshot from
http://bass.directhit.com/openssh_snap/, I get prompted for a user id
and password. Needless to say, I ain't got.
That's real useful. Use to be, I could get the snapshots from
the ftp site. Then things

[Patch] upssched broken in version 2.6.4 with command with two arguments
Hi,
the last commit to upssched.c (Merge Coverity branch, r3555) broke
upssched with commands that have a second argument.
If a command with a second argument is used, "enc" in line 697 is not an
empty buffer and snprintfcat() just appends some stuff, i.e. the
following command
CANCEL onbatt online
becomes
onlineCANCEL "onbatt" "online"
and is then sent to the

SAMBA IRIX Problem
Dear Experts,
I have a problem with SAMBA version 2.0.3 and older. After a few hours
of normal operation the workstation disappears from the browserlist but
the printing function works normal an I can make a manual connection
with the windows-explorer. After a reboot for one or two hours again
I can see the workstation normal in the windows explorer.
My workstation gives the errormessage:

[PATCH] random SSH_MSG_IGNORE packets
Hi!
The following patch adds ability to configure the ssh client to
send SSH[2]_MSG_IGNORE packets of random length at random times
whithin a user-specified interval. The function is configured by
setting the config-file options BogusTrafficIntervalMax and
BogusTrafficIntervalMin, which defines the interval in seconds in
which the packets are randomly sent. It is disabled by default. It
suffices

CTRL-C behaviour with RODBC on Solaris2.8
Dear Dr. Sheth,
This spring, Dr. Cottler and the EPRG submitted a renewal for the T32
NIMH Training Program in Psychiatric Epidemiology and Biostatistics. We
are submitting a letter to Council for the competing continuation for
NIMH which better showcases the accomplishments of our past trainees.
It is vital that you provide us with an update that includes grants

compiling openssh-2.1.1p4 on SPARC Solaris 8
I'm trying to compile openssh-2.1.1p4 on a Sparc machine running Solaris
8. I've got all sorts of patches installed. The compiler is gcc
2.95.2. I was originally trying to get the ssh from www.ssh.com, not
the OpenSSH, to work, but that's another story in and of itself, so I'm
trying this opensource version in hopes of better success.
I'm not exactly sure what a 'cross

Dear useRs,
I am pleased to announce the availability of version 0.95 of package 'memisc'
on CRAN (http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/memisc/).
'memisc' does not implement any new estimators, but focuses on providing an
infrastructure for data analysis especially of survey data. It may be of

The problem's are the superfluous gaps/blanks between the three parts.

Samba 3.6.9 - Redundancy (HA/BDC/DRBD)
Hi everybody,
our university uses a Samba 3.6.9 server as PDC for a windows domain on
a single physical server (external LDAP on another server is used).
To get some redundancy up running a second physical machine was bought,
which is exactly the same as the one running.
Now I?m searching for the best way to get the job done.
The first thought was to build a HA-Cluster with Corosync/Pacemaker

openssh portable and libressl portable cause recursion between arc4random and RAND_bytes
Hi,
Yesterday I tried to replace the system openssl in a gentoo system with
libressl.
With openssh an interesting issue popped up:
* RAND_bytes in libressl calls arc4random
* arc4random is a compat function both in openssh and libressl
* arc4random from openssh uses RAND_bytes
So what's happening is a recursion. arc4random wants to use RAND_bytes
and RAND_bytes wants to use arc4random. The
