OpenSSH GSSAPI patches
An updated version of my GSSAPI patches for OpenSSH 2.9p1 is finally
available from
http://www.sxw.org.uk/computing/patches/openssh.html
These patches fix a bug with the hash calculation which will break
interoperation with earlier versions - sorry!
This release supports both Kerberos and GSI (thanks to Von Welch for the GSI
support) mechanisms, and the code in it has now been widely tested

New GSSAPI Key Exchange patch for OpenSSH 4.2p1
Hi,
This is to announce the availability of a new version of my GSSAPI key
exchange patch for OpenSSH.
The code is available from
http://www.sxw.org.uk/computing/patches/openssh.html
Changes since the last release are:
*) Implement GSS group exchange
*) Disable DNS canonicalization of the hostname passed to the GSSAPI
library - an option is provided to allow this to be overriden on

GSSAPI patch
As much as I hate to raise the question of another large contributed patch,
given recent traffic, what are the chances of my patch for GSSAPI
authentication making it into the tree?
Its now been widely reviewed, and seems to be seeing a fair bit of use. There
is support for multiple GSSAPI mechanisms. I'm happy to adapt the patch as
necessary to get it included - either against the

Problems with Krb5/GSSAPI patches in FBSD 4.3
Hi,
I am trying to impliment OpenSSH v2.9p1 with the Krb5/GSSAPI patches at:
http://www.sxw.org.uk/computing/patches/openssh-2.9p1-gssapi.patch
On a FreeBSD 4.3-STABLE system (with both the integrated Heimdal libs and
the MIT Krb5 package from ports intstalled). I patched the src tree,
reconfigured, recompiled, installed, and it works - except for Krb5
passwords or Krb5 tickets. And I really

[Bug 1008] GSSAPI authentication fails with Round Robin DNS hosts
https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1008
--- Comment #20 from Christoph Anton Mitterer <calestyo at scientia.org> ---
I think this was answered last year in this thread:
https://lists.mindrot.org/pipermail/openssh-unix-dev/2022-May/040285.html
and unfortunately it seems there won't be any merging of the GSSAPI
patch. :-(

[Bug 1008] GSSAPI authentication failes with Round Robin DNS hosts
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1008
--- Comment #9 from Simon Wilkinson <simon at sxw.org.uk> 2007-09-15 20:59:25 ---
I've noted this on the mailing list too, but just for the record,
the simplified patch is incorrect. GSSAPI != Kerberos, and even
within the Kerberos space, some vendors ship with
canonicalisation disabled.
If we are going to ship a workaround for

How do I get an ssh client to authenticate with samba4's kerberos GSSAPI?
Hi,
I am doing some kerberos testing with samba4 using ssh. I have setup
samba4 using the howto at http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO and
active directory seems to be working both with Windows and Linux clients.
ssh unfortunately is not kerberos authenticating via GSSAPI. The client
krb5.conf contains this:

GSSAPI Key Exchange Patch
Will Simon Wilkinson's GSSAPI Key Exchange patch ever be incorporated into
the OpenSSH source?
http://www.sxw.org.uk/computing/patches/openssh.html
I'm sure I'm not the only one that uses it and would like to see it become
part of the OpenSSH source. Is there something missing or is there some
technical/philosophical reason for not including it?

oggzinfo buglet
Conrad,
Small buglet with the 0.9.1 liboggz release (go dude!)
http://thaumas.net/~giles/xiph/elphel/clips/elphel_00017.ogg causes a
float exception in oggzinfo when it tries to calculate the bitrate. It
fails to measure the duration and tries to divide by zero. :)
There may well be something wrong with the file, although oggz-validate
doesn't complain.
Also, the configure script

intermittent problems obtaining shell with gssapi-with-mic
Hi,
I am seeing a rather strange issue with openssh-5.3p1 (both client and
server) under scientific linux 6. The systems in question are set up
to authenticate against a Kerberos server. ssh'ing between machines
works fine 99% of the time with the gssapi-with-mic method. But on
occasion an ssh session will fail to spawn a sheel for the user after
authentication. An example -vvv output in this
