Could not load host key
Hi All, So I tried to upgrade to 2.5.2p2 today. Got this when I stopped/started sshd: Disabling protocol version 2. Could not load host key Re-installed 2.3.0p1 and all was well again. This look familiar to anybody? Thanks, Jim -- Jim Seymour | PGP Public Key available at: jseymour at jimsun.LinxNet.com | http://www.uk.pgp.net/pgpnet/pks-commands.html

rsync fails to retrieve file (if local file is incorrect)
I'm using rsync on an embedded powerpc platform with flash filesystem. Because of a power-cycle a local file got corrupted. This file is /flashfs/isd1, it has the correct size but wrong MD5SUM (cd5...). Using rsync to retrieve the right file (from a remote machine) fails! If I delete the file first, it works (see below). How is this possible ? --- N. van Bolhuis. # md5sum /flashfs/isd1

Best Axxium Pro, Model Series 0650?
Hi There, We have this rather large-ish floor-standing Best Axxium Pro, Model Series 0650. I tried using both the "bestups" and "blazer_ser" drivers with it, but no go. So before I go any further: *Should* one of these work with it and, if not, do I have any options? (E.g.: Modify a current driver, resuscitate one that was started and abandoned, etc.? I can code.) My test

Problem with connecting to host running ssh 2.3.0p1
Hi, I just did a cvs update on my copy of the openssh stuff here to be sure that this bug is still existing. If I connect to a host running 2.3.0p1 and use protocol version 2 ssh fails. Here's the excerpt from the debug log. I would appreciate if someone could fix this, so that I can use protocol version 2 again: |debug1: GOT SSH2_MSG_NEWKEYS. |debug1: send SSH2_MSG_NEWKEYS. |debug1: done:

OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 protocol 2 problem with AIX
Hi, Connecting from RHL7 with OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 or 2.5.0p1 to OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 on AIX 4.3.1. Protocol 2 doesn't work if you specify 'Ciphers rijndael128-cbc' or Ciphers 'aes128-cbc'. sshd -d -d -d on the server shows _nothing_ about these connections. I'm not sure if rijndael has been left out from sshd somehow, but shouldn't the error message be a little more

sftp problem
I am trying to resolve an issue with SSH2 version 2.5.2p2 on Solaris 2.6. SSH2, SSH1 and SCP all work fine in and out. The problem is with SFTP. I can SFTP out, but not in. I can't SFTP into itself. After I issue the command, I get a password prompt. After I give the password, the connection closes with an Exit Status 127. There are 3 other system configure the same and everything is

Samba Internal DNS vs. BIND_DLZ
Hi All, Well, after going in something of the Wrong Direction, I figure on starting over. Now: Looking at the docs, ISTM that BIND_DLZ is kind of a PITA. So, being as I need the BIND (server also is the nameserver for the entire LAN), and the recommendation is to put the AD PDC in a sub-domain, anyway, I was thinking: Run BIND as normal, but bind it to only eth0 Set up an eth0:0

Last errors were: samba_dlz: Failed to configure zone 'example.com' loading configuration: already exists exiting (due to fatal error) samba_dlz: shutting down And, indeed, I had, in /etc/bind/named.local.conf: zone "example.com" in { type master; file "named.hosts"; }; Commenting that out
