"break"/SIGINT handling
Hi,
Could anyone tell me why break requests are only handled in sshd if the channel type is in a 'LARVAL' state?
I'm converting an application that currently uses telnet as an underlying communication protocol and it relies on a SIGINT when an IAC/IP is received by the telnet daemon. It seems an SSH break could/should perform a similar function (tcsendbreak() in session_break_req()

OpenSSH-2.2.0 problem with ssh.com ssh-agent2
The OpenSSH and ssh.com agents use a completely different set of messages for
dealing with DSA keys, so I don't expect the OpenSSH client to be able to get
DSA keys from ssh-agent2. However, if I'm running "ssh-agent2 -1", I expect
OpenSSH to be able to use RSA keys stored in ssh-agent2's agent1 compatibility
box. And it does. However, there's a problem. If I'm

patch to select pkalg
Suppose an SSH server has both RSA and DSA host keys for protocol 2, but I
only have the DSA key, and I want to use that. I'm stuck; the OpenSSH client
is hard-wired to offer both algorithms in the key exchange, and will select
ssh-rsa if it's available (see myproposal.h, KEX_DEFAULT_PK_ALG).
Below is a patch adding the client configuration option "PKAlgorithms" for

client side options -- KeyRegenerationInterval
The SSH-1 protocol does not provide for negotiation of the server key
replacement interval; it is a purely server-side parameter.

Protocol 2 remote forwarding patch
Hi all,
I'm very new in this list, as looking for codes to plug up the lack of
functionality of "Protocol 2 Remote Forwardig".
Fortunately, I could find it in MARC's archive. Mr. Jarno Huuskonen
posted the codes in Sept, last year, and I tried applying it to my
FreeBSD box environment.
I couldn't apply an original patch, of course, for incompatibility of
virsion. The

[PATCH] Implement remote dynamic TCP forwarding
Hi all,
This is a client side only implementation of reversed dynamic (SOCKS) TCP
forwarding, which means it is compatible with any existing servers
have 'remote forward' capability.
To establish such forward, use "ssh -R [BIND_ADDRESS:]PORT ...".
The server will listen on that port and address and accept SOCKS
traffics.
Hope this will be useful for you.

Protocol 2 remote forwarding patch
Hi !
Here's a patch to add remote port forwarding support (protocol 2) for
openssh. I have tried to test that it works like it should but a more
thorough testing is needed. This patch adds both client/server support.
The patch should be applied to openssh-2.1.1p4 source tree.
Also included is a PortForwarding sshd_config option, new ./configure
option --disable-forwarding that should make it

ssh(1) multiplexing rewrite
Hi,
At the n2k10 OpenBSD network hackathon, I finally got some time to clean
up and rewrite the ssh(1) client multiplexing code. The attached diffs
(one for portable OpenSSH, one for OpenBSD) are the result, and they
need some testing.
The revised multiplexing code uses a better protocol between the master
and slave processes and I even bothered to write it up :) It tracks the
control sockets

[PATCH] fix for Linux hang on exit bug in 2.9.9p2
As you are now probably aware, the portability team for openssh still
has not fixed the hang-on-exit bug in the 2.9.9p2 release.
Attached is a patch for 2.9.9p2 that fixes the hang-on-exit bug for Linux
systems. It also adds a useful exit delay feature that has also not yet been
incorporated into the main sources.

F-secure v1 client has trouble connecting to openssh-2.5.1p1
I'm observing that mac clients using F-Secure ssh v1 client log into the
ssh server, and then the client just hangs with nothing on the screen.
In the SYSLOG file, I see this:
Accepted password for user from host port whatever
Packet integrity error (62 != 58) at session.c:350
Disconnecting: Packet integrity error. (34)

How do anova() and Anova(type="III") handle incomplete designs?
Hello all:
I am confused about the output from a lm() model with an incomplete
design/missing level.
I have two categorical predictors and a continuous covariate (day) that
I am using to model larval mass (l.mass):
leaf.species has three levels - map, syc, and oak
cond.time has two levels - 30 and 150.
There are no response values for Map-150, so that entire, two-way, level
is missing.

New dynamic window patch (with limits)
As before, it is described on our website. This should apply fairly
cleanly to both portable and openbsd ssh.

Umlaute and Sharing with both SAMBA and Helios Ethershare.
Hi all
I have samba 1.9.18 and 2.0.2 shares which are also shared to the
macintosh world with Helios ethershare running under Solaris 2.5.1 and
2.6. I can create files and directories with the German special
characters "umlaute" and "sz" with either client. My problem is that the
macintoshes can't access directories created from the PCs whose name

[PATCH]: Patch to fix hang on exit bug under Linux and add optional exit delay
The hang-on-exit bug still hasn't been fixed in OpenSSH-3.0p1... :-(
Here again is the patch to fix this bug under Linux, updated for OpenSSH-3.0p1.
This has been exhaustively tested for six months now. It also add an exit
delay option that can be useful.
The patch does not lead to data loss under Linux.

bug/feature NT Explorer and Samba-2.0.3 ?
Hi there
We have Samba 2.0.3 running under solaris 2.5.1. Security is domain, NT
domain users are mapped to unix users, we have a homes section in the
smb.conf, and the home directories are mounted by the NT Clients on
startup. I can crash explorer by carrying out the following sequence.
In explorere, right click on the drive , select the security tab, click
on permissions and hey presto ...

Bug samba 2.0.4 ?
Hi
I just installed Samba 2.0.4 under Solaris 2.5.1
Now when someone trys to save a MS Word file to his home directory on
the SUN he gets a "not enough permissions"
msg.
Looking on the unix side I see a file ~WRD1741.tmp with permissions of
000 .
I upped the log level to 3 and found this ..
call_nt_transact_set_security_desc: file = forNT/~WRD1741.tmp, sent 0x7

DynamicWindow Patch
We have developed a patch that enables changing the SSH window size
using the tcp window size as the source. This allows SSH to obtain
maximum use of the bandwidth on high BDP links.
We also have a page that describes the changes and performance.
http://www.psc.edu/~rapier/hpn-ssh/
The patch against CVS is included here.

Implementing Silverman's Negative Reflection
Hi!
I'm trying to implement in R in an easy way the negative reflection method
described in Silverman (1986) on p.31, ie I have a non-negative dataset and
would like to estimate the density by applying a reflection method where the
reflected points have weight -1.
I thought there should be a way to evaluate the wanted kernel at the
required points, in other words to calculate formula (2.16):
