configure.in reorder patch
Feb 12 CVS (sort of, see warning below)
I've had to change around some of the code in configure.in
to get some platforms to compile with the --with-tcp-wrappers option.
Basicly I have set it up to
check headers
check system libraries
check for optional packages
check functions
I have also tried to clean up the library order as it is important
on some platforms.
This patch works on

modifying Openssh config script for KTH-KRB (fwd)
Dear OpenSSH developers,
Hi, taking the liberty of sending this to your mailing list in the hope
someone will be able to help. The KTH version of Kerberos 4 was the only
one I was able to find.
In case you don't want to look at all the stuff below, the situation is
briefly that I am trying to compile openssh with kerberos 4 support, which
it apparently has. However, it can't find krb.h,

Patch for unformatted manpages
The attached patch (relative to the current CVS snapshot) uses a perl
script to convert the OpenSSH manpages from the BSD -mdoc format to
the -man format used by other systems. This allows the unformatted
manpages to be installed normally, rather than defaulting to
preformatted pages.
I'd like to see this patch integrated into the portable version of
OpenSSH. Please let me know what you

Patch to change installation of ssh_config and sshd_config
The NetBSD packages system "forbids" packages from installing stuff outside
of the package tree (typically "/usr/pkg"). OpenSSH installs ssh*_config
into $sysconfdir by default, which violates that rule. Christos Zoulas
reworked Makefile.in to seperate the install from sysconfdir, and I added
some logic to configure.in to add --with-example-dir.
NetBSD's package would

Small aix patch to configure.in
The following aix patch to configure.in forces /usr/include to be searched
before /usr/local/include on AIX systems only. This allows the normal
include rules to untangle <login.h> from "login.h" on AIX when using the AIX
cc compiler or gcc. Please see that it gets applied to the current cvs
source tree. It fixes the only compile time error the current cvs tree has

patch for TIS (skey/opie) *and* passwd auth via PAM
Hello,
appended is a patch that makes it possible to use PAM both for
password authentication and TIS (i.e. s/key or opie or any other
interactive challenge/response scheme). I have developed this starting
from the patch at http://www.debian.org/Bugs/db/61/61906.html on
Debian with openssh-2.1.1p4-3. After configuring ssh with
--with-pam-tis, there are two PAM services, "sshd" and

OPIE patch for current CVS
I redid my previous OPIE patch for the current ssh tree. It seems
to work fine here, and I'ld love to see it merged before the 3.0
release.

[PATCH] tis authserv support
Hi,
We at BalaBit IT Security Ltd developed a patch against openssh 2.3.0p1 to
support TIS authserv authentication. TIS authserv uses a simple protocol,
and supports CryptoCard, SKey, password etc. authentication.
The commercial versions of SSH support this protocol, OpenSSH implemented
SKey on its own using the protocol primitives originally invented for TIS
authentication.
Our patch is an

I just cobbled up a little patch to add support for OPIE to
OpenSSH. Currently untested, but feedback is welcome.

AIX openssh patches
I have a few patches for AIX. The patchfile is attached below. The patch
has been tested on AIX4.2 and AIX4.3. The patch is on openssh-1.2.1pre25,
with openssl-0.94, using RSAref.
1) authenticate support - this function allows the system to determine
authentification. Whatever the system allows for login, authenticate
will too. It doesn't matter whether it is AFS, DFS, SecureID, local.

Cannot compile openssh-3.5.p1 on Irix 6.5.15 with kerberos4
Hi,
I have the following problem. I think it's arising from the fact, that
DES algorithms are fetched from libcrypto and not from libdes anymore.
But, some types still clash. I use krb4-1.2.1 from
http://www.pdc.kth.se/kth-krb

patch: readline support for sftp
Hello,
I hope this is the right place to post this.
I added readline support to the sftp client. It adds optional
--with-readline parameter for configure to enable this feature. You'll
of course need to re-run autoheader and autoconf after applying this
patch.
It's patched against 3.4p1 but should work with any recent openssh. It
works fine for me (GNU/Linux) - feel free to test it and

Typo in configure.in
Hello!
In configure.in from openssh-2.2.0p1 you are using $xno and $xyes several
times. However, those variables are not defined. I guess you mean literals
"xno" and "xyes" in all those cases.
If that's correct please apply the patch at the end of this message.
Regards,
Pavel Roskin

blibpath changes for AIX
Hi all,
lately I've built a RPM for OpenSSH 3.6.1p2 on AIX using the OpenSSL
installation that comes with IBM's "AIX Toolbox for Linux". The latter
by default installs in the /opt/freeware directory, so I've ran
configure with the option '--with-ssl-dir=/opt/freeware'.
This has worked fine for former versions of OpenSSH, but with 3.6.1p2,

Little cleanup for -lz
Here is a first patch in a series of similar ones (I hope).
This patch is to make -lz used for only those programs that
*really* need zlib (namely, ssh and sshd for now). There
is no need to load libz.so for ssh-keygen, sftp and others.
Related question. It seems ssh's configure script pickups
-lnsl on linux -- what for? It is required on solaris, but
not on linux. But on solaris, one
