What can I do to get this to compile correctly?
Thanks in advance,

ssh-rand-helper probs
Hi all
Am i doing this right? Is this the right list to post to? If not, a
quick lesson in ettiquette for me would not hurt. As I am both just
starting to use newsgroups and SSH, I am not entirely familiar with the
processes. I have a question about ssh-rand-helper. First an outline: I
am currently using the SSH packages for Solaris 2.8 available at
sunfreeware.com. The environment is

AIX reading /etc/environment out of step.
I was discussing with Don about a private topic..and while skimming the
code I noticed that during a 'ssh mouring at site ls' the /etc/environment
is *ONLY* read if the remote machine is an AIX box. This is undocumented
and I'm wondering if someone using AIX could explain WHY it exists in the
session.c:do_child()? No other OS has this. I don't see why AIX should
require it.

Patches for OpenSSH 2.5.2p2: evaluate /etc/default/login, makefiles manpages
Dear developers of OpenSSH,
first of all I want to thank you for your excellent work on OpenSSH!
I have compiled OpenSSH 2.5.2p2 on Sun Solaris 2.6 and Sun Solaris 8
and discovered some problems.
The first is that OpenSSH doesn't evaluate the file /etc/default/login
which contains some flags and parameters for the login process.
On important parameter is the default value for PATH.

Feature request
Hello,
I have an idea, is this a good list for it? I hope
it won't be offtopic.
So... it would be nice, if you change the host resolver
code to this: it should lookup MX records like mail
transport agents, but only if A record for host doesn't
present. Demonstration:
foo.org MX 7 bigboy.foo.org
bigboy.foo.org A 1.2.3.4
west.foo.org MX 1 mail.fooisp.net
west.foo.org

prng_cmds/init_rng() question/patch
I have a need to provide ssh client binaries for use elsewhere on
several platforms, some without /dev/random support. I can't assume
that users will know how to install/run prngd or egd, so I was
planning to rely on the builtin prng code. However this require the
ssh_prng_cmds file to exist in a fixed location -- which would mean
making binaries which either look for it in . or other

solaris 64 build?
We have a solaris/sparc machine that has been running an old version
of R-devel: Version 2.2.0 Under development (unstable) (2005-06-04
r34577)
which was built as m64 from sources. Attempting to upgrade to 2.4.0
the configure step
goes ok, but I'm getting early on from make:

RFE: ISCSI alias when shareiscsi=on
Starting from this thread:
http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=118786𝀂
I would love to have the possibility to set an ISCSI alias when doing an
shareiscsi=on on ZFS. This will greatly facilate to identify where an
IQN is hosted.
the ISCSI alias is defined in rfc 3721
e.g. http://www.apps.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3721.html#sec-2
and the CLI could be something like:

Detection of identical file doesn't work for localhost:
Hi,
I had to notice that scp is able to detect if a file is copied to itself
if you use "scp foo /path/to/foo" or "scp foo .". If you type in "scp
foo localhost:/path/to/foo" it will still overwrite the old version of
foo. Is it possible to change this behaviour of scp?
I only had a quick glance at scp.c and I'm also not a C coder, only
learning C right now, so

Hello
I'm having trouble building R under Unix. I've searched for information
about it on google or the R database but I didn't find any answer on my
problem. I would be thankful if somebody could help me working that out.
The version of R I'm trying to build is R-2.4.0 and the architecture of
solaris is sparc.
Here's what I type.

[PATCH]: contrib/cygwin/ssh-host-config
Hi,
below is a patch to contrib/cygwin/ssh-host-config and the corresponding
README in the same dir. It adds a `--port' option to the config script
to allow setting another port than 22 for sshd.
Additionally the script used to add `sshd 22/tcp' to the services file
while the IANA proposes `ssh 22/tcp' and `ssh 22/udp' as services entries.
The new version removes old `sshd'

wtmpx problem on Solaris 8 sparcv9 (64bit) environment
Hello
When I was using OpenSSH-2.9p2 in Solaris 8 sparcv9 (64bit)
environment, I found some trouble that wtmpx has broken.
The size of utmpx structure object becomes larger than 32 bit environment
in sparcv9 environment. Therefore, instead of using utmpx structure object,
using futmpx structure object is better.
In sparcv9 environment, futmpx structure object is used instead of utmpx
