SAMBA AND PRINTING
Hi. I'm sharing printers over samba, and I would like to know if there is a way for a samba server to behave like a Windows Server, that is, when I install a remote printer, it installs the respective drivers. When I connect to a samba printer, it tells me that the server has no suitable NULL printer drivers. Is there a way to configure samba to do that? Thanks --

Automounting
Is there a way to make samba automatically mount a home directory? That is, a user logging in (from Linux), enters its username and password(Samba), and the system automatically mounts the user's home directory from the samba server(without asking the password again). Has anyone ever tried to do this? And succedeed :-) ? -- nneves@di.fc.ul.pt Dept. Informatica, Fac.

Samba and AFS
I think I have come across what seems to be a bug in the interplay between Samba and AFS. I'm running 1.9.16p11 on an IBM RS/6000 (AIX 4.1.5) with the AFS support included (AFS 3.4a). The client machine is running Windows 95. I've created an AFS area which is writeable (rlidwk) to an AFS protection group. The group contains two AFS users, say user1 and user2. If user1 creates a file in

Solaris 2.6, and AFS
With the help of Jan Iven I have been able to compile openssh-2.9.9p2 on Solaris 2.6 with AFS/kerb4 support using gcc. ./configure --sysconfdir=/etc/ssh --with-tcp-wrappers \ --with-egd-pool=/var/run/egd-pool \ --with-kerberos4=/usr/athena --with-afs=/usr/afsws to do this I modified the resulting Makefile, from: CPPFLAGS=-I. -I$(srcdir) -I/usr/local/ssl/include

Kerberos/AFS options in ssh/sshd while disabling them in configure
Dear OpenSSH developers, Hello, I strongly support this suggestion ie. adding the sentence "This option has been disabled at compile time" as appropriate. It would be even more helpful if you said how to enable it (krb) at compile time. Remember, this is the only documentation available. I spent some time wondering about this before searching the archives. Ok, while we are on the

3.0.2 AFS login problem, Solaris 2.5.1
I've been beating myself senseless trying to build OpenSsh 3.0.1 on Solaris 2.5.1 and get AFS login working. The symptoms of the problem are: sshd builds (used --with-afs and -with-kerberos4 - there is no PAM on this box), accepts connections from non-AFS users, but does not accept a connection from an AFS user; the user sees "permission denied" after entering the password. passwords
could someone please give me the lowdown on samba and passwords? i keep trying to connect to any share name on either of my unix boxes, either from each other or from a win95 machine... every time i can't get anything due to passwords... does samba have it's own password file? from trial-and-error it seems that it doesn't read out your /etc/passwd file for user's home dirs...

Diference in results from doBy::popMeans, multcomp::glht and contrast::contrast for a lme model
Hello R users, I'm analyzing an experiment in a balanced incomplet block design (BIB). The effect of blocks are assumed to be random, so I'm using nlme::lme for this. I'm analysing another more complex experiments and I notice some diferences from doBy::popMeans() compared multcomp::glht() and contrast::contrast(). In my example, glht() and contrast() were equal I suspect popMeans()

F values for glm with binomial distribution
Hi Rneters, I'm running a GLM model with a full factorial design in blocks and binomial error distribution. I would like to have the F values for this model but I got a message that "using F test with a binomial family is inappropriate in: anova.glm(model, test = "F")". Should I not report F statistics on this kind of analysis? I would appreciate any comment on this.

Help with 'memory not mapped'

Normalidad para datos multivariados
Hola! Gracias! Carol [[alternative HTML version

privsep versus compression
Hi, I'm unable to get Kerberos4 authentication working with openssh-3.4p1. I'm getting a message that privsep is not available on my platform (Irix 6.5.15) and another message stating that compression and privsep are mutually exclusive. But, ssh decided to turn off compression, I think because of servconf.c. I think it would be more usefull to have compression enabled and disable privsep

OpenSSH + Solaris + AFS ???
Hello *, sorry if i missed an article which already solves my problem. I need a working configuration of OpenSSH for Solaris 7 (SunOS 5.7) with AFS support. PAM support to use the AFS PAm module `pam_afs.so' and TCP-Wrapper support would be nice. It would be nice to have similar configurations for Solaris 6 (SunOS 5.6), Solaris 8 (SunOS 5.8) and Solaris 2.5.1. I have tested a few
