openssh (OpenBSD) , bsdauth and tis authsrv
nuqneH, I've tried using TIS authsrv authentication via bsd auth and found it quite limited. The most important restriction it does not log ip and fqdn of the remote peer, nor the application name, to the authentication server. It does not matter much for TIS authsrv, but since other applications do provide such information, our authsrv version uses it for extra authentication restrictions.

PAM, keyboard interactive, pam-1@ssh.com, interoperability
I have a simple goal: to use PAM to do my TIS authsrv authentications. I have Mark Roth's pam_authsrv module -- it works fine. + I can configure openssh for PAM, and it works fine (negotiating ssh2 keyboard interactive auth method). + I can configure ssh.com-3.0.1 for PAM, and it also works fine (negotiating ssh2 pam-1 at ssh.com auth method). Unfortunately, the openssh client

keyboard-interactive
Is there a way for a PAM module to force a client (and the server) to use kbd-interactive? As far as I can tell, when in the INITIAL_LOGIN phase, all communication with the client returns a PAM_CONV_ERR. I am trying to write a PAM module that will prompt a user for a second username and a second password in order for the module to succeed so that proper authentication relies on the ability

Problem with all programs run with wine
So my issue is that most while most app's open just fine, i can't intereact with anything in them. i can't click on anything within the window. For example, in winefile the cursor isn't even visible while in the winefile window, and I cant click to navigate or even to close the window. I also can't use the keyboard to do anything but quit x11 after opening something with wine.

Information leakage in sshd
Hi guys, and here's a security related bug report. I think it's has been fixed in the 2.2.x-release of openssh, but I'm not sure. I tried to reproduce the problem with my 2.2.0p1 and could find any difference in the behaviour of ssh depending on wether PermitRootLogin was set to no. Could someone please confirm that this problem is not existing anymore? > When PermitRootLogin is

'make' fails on redhat 6.x
Hi everybody, just trying to compile openssh3.1p1 here on a redhat box, and it fails in cipher.c - with messages similar to ones I've seen posted to this list recently, regarding redhat & SCO. I'm using openssl-0.9.6c ... to my untrained eye, the output of ./configure looks ok but make fails afterwards. I've pasted as much as I hope is relevant from the outputs of

password expire warning for dovecot users in IMAP/POP login
Dear list, Is it possible to give a notification about password exprire warning to users authenticated by OpenLDAP when the users login via dovecot using IMAP or POP? For example, when you ssh to a server and/or run ldapsearch, you can be warned with password expire warning like below: # ssh testuser at localhost testuser at localhost's password: Your password will expire in 31 minute(s).

config problem with 1.2.2 on Redhat 6.1 / pam
Hi there! I have a small - but essential :) - problem with the above configuration. I compiled the 1.2.2 version straight forward, with almost default settings (sysconfdir=/etc/ssh) After that I copied the sshd.pam to /etc/pam.d, generated the host-key and started sshd Feb 10 15:29:36 FW-W1A sshd[18351]: Server listening on 0.0.0.0 port 22. [PATCH] tis authserv support
Hi, We at BalaBit IT Security Ltd developed a patch against openssh 2.3.0p1 to support TIS authserv authentication. TIS authserv uses a simple protocol, and supports CryptoCard, SKey, password etc. authentication. The commercial versions of SSH support this protocol, OpenSSH implemented SKey on its own using the protocol primitives originally invented for TIS authentication. Our patch is an

[Galen Hancock <galen@veribox.net>] Information leakage in sshd
Hi, Thought I'd just forward this here, because I don't have time to look into it right now, and am off skiing next week. I'd guess that we should be checking for username = ``root'' before going off to do password checks, and rejecting it on that basis first. Cheers, Phil. -- Mind-numbingly stupid UK law alert! [Announce] Web-MeetMe 3.0.0 released
We've been holding back on this release to coincide with the Asterisk 1.4.0 release. This is mostly a compatibility release, but there are a few new features: * No longer requires register_globals in PHP * Separated code from configuration settings in ./lib/defines.php (hopefully this will make future upgrades easier) * Migrated all database interfaces to PEAR::DB which

PAM under AIX
I apologize in advance for this slightly-off-topic message, but I thought it would be of interest to those running OpenSSH under AIX... Earlier today, I submitted a patch to the Linux-PAM folks to port the library to AIX. The patch includes a pam_aix module to provide backward compatibility to the traditional AIX authentication methods. My main impetus for doing this is that I don't want to

Request for subsystem 'sftp' failed on channel 0
Hello, I installed OpenSSH_3.7p1 on 2 AIX 4.3.3 servers last week and had this problem on both of them. On the first server I finally re-installed the package and that fixed it. I tried re-installing it multiple times on the second server and still have the same issue. I have checked everything that I can think of and spent many hours looking for a solution. Both servers have the same csh.cshrc
