2.5.1p1 logout hangs after RHL crond start
The RHL 6.2 command "/etc/rc.d/init.d/crond start" prevents
clean logout from compiled version of OpenSSH-2.5.1p1 on all
hosts.
The command "/etc/rc.d/init.d/crond stop" is OK.
This occurs for interactive or command line requests.
ssh remotehost /etc/rc.d/init.d/crond stop --- works every time

hanging on logout, can't background client
I've just recently switched from old ssh to OpenSSH 2. So far no major
problems, until now. I'm logging in from Linux to Solaris 8. Both are
running 2.9.9p2.
Under ssh-1.2.28 I would fire off several xterms, exit, and properly get the
"waiting for forwarded X11 connection" message, and then be able to type ~&
(as documented) to get back to the shell. The channel was kept

HP-UX 9 problems (hangs on logout; tty isn't sane)
I'm trying to get OpenSSH 2.5.2p2 to run on HP-UX 9.05. I've had some
decent results, but I'm also seeing some problems.
I'm using the EGD (I configured with --with-prngd-socket=/tmp/entropy).
* Compiling required some changes, which I've attached. Two of the
changes are "hackish", and not at all suited to inclusion in the
source tree, but they might point

Windows hangs on logout
Moin,
i have installed samba 2.2.3a with FreeBSD. I connect some windows
98 and Windows ME boxes to the server and it works. But if I try to
logout the windows clients hang. If I disconnect the samba shares I
can shutdown the client so it looks like an samba configuration
problem?
What maybe the problem?
Many thanks
Matthias

Imap process timeout to quota proxy on logout after async commit
Hi there, I am having some trouble implementing a quota proxy server for a memcached based dict (I am using the version 2.2.15).
I created a multi-threaded daemon that is using non-blocking sockets to receive the data and reply to dovecot. Right now everything but the atomic increase message is working great. Here is an example of such a message:

What should I check in order make it work?

Windows Roaming Profile - Logout Time
Hey there,
I'm having a strange bug with Samba and Windows 10 1709 when I use roaming profiles. I've set the GPO that the copyed local account will be deleten when the user logsout.
When a user logs in and immediately logs out again, the logout takes minutes before I see the login screen again. I'm using a SSD.
I've done some further investigation using the process monitor and

setting up auto logout in CentOS 6
I would like to have my lab workstations logout a session after the person has been idle for a certain period of time. After some searching on the web, I got into
/etc/gconf/schemas/gnome-session.schemas
and set the default value of max_idle_action to ?forced-logout?:
<schema>
<key>/schemas/desktop/gnome/session/max_idle_action</key>

post-logout scripting
Hi all,
I found this (http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2010-January/045717.html)
describing how to do a post-logout script. But is this valid anymore?
It seems I'm getting error when trying to execute imap process in
post-logout script and post logout documentation does not talk about
executing imap.
I'm trying to umount (virtual) user home directory when user logs out.
Thanks,

patch for "gone - no logout" output from last(1)
Greetings,
After upgrading one of my systems to the linux 2.6.4 kernel, it started
having problems recording the logout entries in the wtmp file. I traced
this to a bug in loginrec.c, where a variable (line) is declared as an
array of 8 characters. This length is substantially shorter than the 16
character array size of ut_line, so openssh effectively truncates the
pseudo-tty name when the

Purpose of LOGIN and LOGOUT
What is the purpose of the LOGIN <upsdevice> and LOGOUT commands in the
network protocol? It seems if I supply USERNAME and PASSWORD then I am able
to perform any operations on the device, so why would I need to use LOGIN?
And since LOGIN takes a <upsdevice> but LOGOUT does not, I guess that
LOGOUT is implicitly associated with the last (most recent) LOGIN? Which
means a single client

Logout after SSL/TLS negociation
Hi All,
I've set up Dovecot to use my signed SSL certificate and IMAP client is
using STARTTLS on port 143 without secure authentication.
The TLS negociation process seems to go through ok but once the negociation
is finished the client sends an IMAP LOGOUT message; he does not try to
authenticate, below is the Dovecot's info log:

Linux auto idle logout & vlock possible security problem
There''s a possible security problem using auto idle logout programs and vt
lockers.
Try the following:
get the pid of your shell,
(sleep 10s ; kill -HUP <pid-of-your-shell) &
vlock -a
after vlock -a, you can''t change the virtual console on a Linux terminal.
But if you log in, start vlock -a, enter your password you can change
vt...
The same happens when an auto idle

AgentCallbackLogin (logout)
Hi
Trying to get logout by dialling an extension sorted
out.
Thought the it worked was agent logs in and logs off
on an extension clears any previous agents currently
on that extension like:
1. agent 1 login to extension1
2. agent 2 login to extension1
3. agent 2 logout
agent 1 and 2 logged out
Is this how it should work? I am using current cvs.
Thanks
Jack
