Slow connection performance with ssh2
Hi,
since I switched from SSH 1 to OpenSSH 2.9p2/2.9.9p2/3.0p1 Snapshot I suffer from
awfully slow connection performance. Once the connection is established, performance
is perfectly ok.

preferred key exchange methods
is there a way of specifying preferred key exchange methods on client end
with OpenSSL 3.1 using ssh2?
i'm trying to determine which key exchange method is actually being used
for a connection but i'm i bit confused by the debug messages:

sftp authentication failure only as cronjob
Hi all,
I have a problem using sftp which I cannot get solved even after
searching all over the web, so maybe one of you has a useful hint:
I want to run a simple script that puts a file on a server using sftp.
Keys are setup correctly, everything works fine if I run the script from
within a terminal. When I run the same script from the crontab (my
personal crontab as user) the script runs fine

openssh 4.0p1 under OSX
I'm having difficulty getting ssh to connect as any
local user under OSX 10.3.8. The odd thing is ssh -l
root localhost works fine as a normal user, whereas
ssh -l themac localhost (or from any host for that
matter) does not.
Thanks

openssh 2.3.0p1-5 loses stdout
Hello all
In a recent spate of paranoia we set our server (SuSE Linux 7.0, kernel
2.2.16) to use SSH version 2 and not SSH1. With openssh 2.3.0p1-5 running
as client and server, we find that stdout output is occasionally dropped:
ssh server echo "JJJ"
usually emits JJJ, but sometimes returns nothing -- although the command
is apparently performed.
In the happy case the server logs

occasional ssh hang
I am using OpenSSH on Redhat 6.2 (Intel) and Solaris 2.6 (Sparc). I have a
job on the linux machine that ssh's to the Solaris machine every 20 seconds
or so and runs uptime. The problem is that after many iterations of this,
ssh will occasionally hang, and require a kill -9 to get rid of the
process. The problem happens with both protocol version 1 and 2, but it
seems to happened more often

key_verify failed for server_host_key from Solaris 2.7 to non-Solaris hosts
Hi,
I am using OpenSSH 2.5.2p2 on Solaris 2.7 (Ultra 10) with 64bit support and
have the following problem when connecting with the ssh2 protocol to
non-solaris OS:
On the client side, I do:
/local/work/lysis/bin/slogin -v -2 -p 2222 rs30
On the server side (AIX 4.3), the sshd runs as follows:
aix/sbin/sshd -p 2222 -d
Full output follows at the end of this mail.
The server is compiled with

Definately. But is it the client or the server?
I've sent it to the portable OpenSSH bug address.
I'm using OpenSSH 2.5.2p2-1.7 on a RedHat 7.0 with all updates.
Sometimes I can login fine, and sometimes I can't. It actually seems to

With bounds checking patch for gcc-3.1 problems if using AES
Hello developers,
some informations before I come to the problem:
At work we're using Open-SSH 3.4p1 under Solaris 8. I compiled the
Open-SSH by myself with gcc-3.1. In the gcc is the bounds checking patch
included
(http://web.inter.nl.net/hcc/Haj.Ten.Brugge/bounds-checking-gcc-3.1-1.01.patch.bz2).
With this patch I compiled:
- prngd 0.9.25
- zlib 1.1.4
- Open-SSL 0.9.6d

Dear Group,
I'm having a problem connecting Solaris 10 Server to a Redhat Enterprise

public key authentication failure
Hello,
I am attempting to make public key authentication to work between
OpenSSH 3.0.2 client on OpenBSD and SSH-1.99-OpenSSH_2.9 FreeBSD

figure out what goes wrong. Could somebody interpret the attached
typescripts for me, please?

Strange problem from "identical" hosts
Long post.. sorry.
Ok.. I've got three systems, all running openssh-3.0.2p1. As a matter
of fact, they were installed from the same built tree, so I know they are
the same.
Here's the deal. I've got three systems, call them source1, source2 and
target. All are HP-UX 11.0 systems installed from the same tree.
Source1 and source2 both have thier root rsa pub keys in target's

Exit status strangeness
Hello,
Trying to get Oracle DataGuard running, which basically does a lot
of work between two replicating databases via rsh/ssh. It is breaking
because it pays very close attention to the exit status of ssh commands.
We are using OpenSSH 2.5.2p2 (also tried 2.9p1, same result) on Solaris 7
and 8. This seems to be Solaris specific, because I can't reproduce it
on Linux.

Problem with 2.5.1p1 client protocol v2
I have installed 2.5.1p1 on two systems, one running Digital Unix 4.0F

using the 2.5.1p1 client and the version 2 protocol.
Here is a connect attempt from the Linux box (this is after I blew away
my ~/.ssh directory to make sure there was no "cruft" in it). Note that
this also has the all zero key fingerprint that
