linux X forwarding still not working
I'm now using the openssh-2.5.2p1 version, and the X forwarding on the
linux machine is still not working.
It's a Redhat 6.2 machine running kernel 2.2.17-14
It doesn't appear to be adding anything to the /tmp/ssh-whatever/cookies
file when you log in.
I posted some debug info yesterday.
Does anyone have some ideas of what I can try next, or is this a known
bug?

Testing Call
Ok.. I'm starting official testing calls early this release. I'd like to
have more feedback and more time for handling fixes.
If people could test snapshots (http://www.openssh.org/portable.html, pick
your favorate mirror and select snapshots directory) and report failures
it would be useful.
For those with pmake install there is regress/ which you can try out. It
may help any platform

openssh-2.1.1p2 problem and fix
Hi all,
trawled through the archives and did'nt find what I was looking for so here goes.
This may be common knowledge or may not for the developers here ... maybe
it will save someone some time anyhow.
I'm running Redhat 6.2, **2.4.0-test1 kernel**, openssh-2.1.1p2.tar.gz, openssl-0.9.5a.tar.gz,
with these options.
sh configure --with-tcp-wrappers --with-md5-passwords

IRIX on OpenSSH 3.3
Can I get someone runing IRIX to tell me if this
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=280
or
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=281
are still valid. And if PrivSep works on it? If not a sshd -d -d -d of
the server side?

Test snapshots
Could eveyone please give the latest snapshots a test? I have just
pulled in some more OpenSSL libc code to support globbing in the sftp
client. It works OK on the platforms that I have access to, but that
isn't many...
Report success/failure and host (as reported by configure).
Thanks.

Host based authentication does not seem to be working for us after
upgrading to openssh-3.4p1 (we were at openssh-3.1p1) (openssl is at

Improper (?) OpenSSL version mismatch(was RE: OpenSSH_2.5.1p1 - RH 6.2)
Well, I've finally gotten around to compiling
and testing OpenSSH 2.5.2p1, in order to update
the contrib/solaris packaging scripts.
Somehow on my test system, I'm getting errors
that indicate that I've still got some old copy
of OpenSSL being found somewhere...but I can't
for the life of me tell where. The compile went
fine (it found the OpenSSL 0.9.5a libraries that

scp not found - OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 on slack 7
hi,
let me start by saying ive tried everything i can think of with the --with-default-path configure flag.
USER_PATH in config.h is correctly getting the value of this flag.
i am installing to the default locations (user binaries to /usr/local/bin).
ssh works fine, (after i did the LIBS=-lcrypt thing) but now, no matter what i do, i get "sh: scp: command not found" whenever i try to

HalfLife on latest CVS
Whilst bored I purchased HalfLife for Windows, having read people mention on
Slashdot that it runs on Wine.
I run Debian (woody) on an AMD Athlon 1.4GHz machine with 1Gb RAM as my desktop.
It currently has a Voodoo3 video card, though I have a dual head Radeon which
I'm going to use once I get a monitor that is compatible (my current monitor has
a very wavy display with that card).

Another round of testing calls.
Outside the known 'Hang-on-exit' bug and the Solaris 'PAM_TTY_KLUDGE'
required. *WHAT* other issues *MUST* be address before 3.0 which is
approaching fast?
Those running NeXTStep I need conformation that it works under NeXT. My
current Slab is packed in a storage unit due to a fire in my apartment
complex (happened above me so I'm wrapping up dealing with that crap =).

2.1.1p1 Timestamp problem?
I've been running OpenSSH for quite some time now, and I have been
acting more as the point man in making the builds for LinuxPPC as well
as distributing it to the Linux for the PowerPC community.
Things have worked rather well, making it a straight rebuild of the
package. However, a new problem was introduced with 2.1.1p1. It's not
critical, but a little more than a simple annoyance.

3.0.2p1 under IRIX (coredumps)
Hello,
I am unable to build a working OpenSSH 3.0.2p1 for IRIX 6.5 using either
1. gcc 2.95.3 + binutils 2.11.2
2. SGI MIPSpro cc, CC=cc, LD=/usr/bin/ld, CFLAGS='-mips3 -n32'
Under both setups:
- zlib seems to build fine
- OpenSSL seems to build fine and tests out okay
- OpenSSH builds, and then:
openssh-3.0.2p1 % ./ssh -v myhost

Call for testing for coming 2.9 release.
If we can get people to test their platforms against the last snapshot/cvs
tree I'd be greatful. (http://www.openssh.com/portable.html)
I know NeXT platform has problems. I'm going to spend tonight looking at
it.
Also, take a moment to see what manpage type ./configure decided for your
system and if it's 'cat' please let us know.
Thanks.

Another shapshot
I have just uploaded another snapshot to:
http://www.mindrot.org/misc/openssh/openssh-SNAP-20001028.tar.gz
Please test this one extra hard, it is likely to become 2.3.0p1 early
next week.
Regards,
Damien Miller

Drop Call on ICMP Port Unreachable?
One of our users recently had a powerfail while connected to our meetme
gateway. (Asterisk 1.4.17 on debian 4.0)
Through the course of it, asterisk never hung up. His system came back
up, and started sending ICMP port unreachables, but the stream went on,
flooding him with "silence" media stream packets (there was nobody else in
the conference).
Is asterisk aware of ICMP

HPUX 10.20 and OpenSSH 3.4.p1
Hello,
over the last few days I've been attempting to compile openssh-3.4p1 on a HP j5000 (hpux 10.20) but have run
into some problems.
I had found the paper from Kevin Steves and have been following his suggested steps. Perl, zlib, prngd,
tcp_wrappers and openssl all compiled more or less as he described. The configure script runs without protest
but make gets hung up in
