cvs bulid breaks on slackware
cvs code from this morning (about 9am PST) breaks on slackware 7.1 w/ gcc
2.95.2.1 with an undefined reference to session_setup_sia in session.o.
this seems to be the culprit here:
#ifdef HAVE_OSF_SIA
#else /* HAVE_OSF_SIA */
session_setup_sia(pw->pw_name, ttyname);
since i have no idea what that's trying to accomplish (and seems to be a bit

An update on SSH protocol 1
Hi,
At this stage, we're most of the way towards fully deprecating
SSH protocol 1 - this outlines our plans to complete this task.
We've had this old protocol in various stages of deprecation for almost
10 years and it has been compile-time disabled for about a year.
Downstream vendors, to their credit, have included this change in recent
OS releases by shipping OpenSSH packages that

Migrate from an NFS storage to GlusterFS
Hi -
I already have an NFS server in production which shares Web data for a
4-node Apache cluster. I'd like to switch to GlusterFS.
Do I have to copy the files from the NFS storage to a GlusterFS one, or
may it work if I just install GlusterFS on that server, configuring a
GFS volume to the existing storage directory (assuming, of course, the
NFS server is shuuted down and not used

Lattice: how to reduce/shrink plot area
Hi,
is there a command or parameter for reducing the plotting area with
lattice? What I am looking for is an option similar to 'mai' or 'mar'
from the graphs package.
Background: I have plotted several charts with horizontal stacked bars
and now I would like to add info about percentages of each "sub bar"
beneath the plot (with mtext (?) ). So the plot should look

Managing the spiralling costs
I have been using the inbound 800 services from vitelity. Slowly the
usage has been rising and in the month of Jan the bill was for $650. I
am currently on a 1.9 cents a minute plan. Am I paying too much ?
Some suggestions my team generated to reduce the toll free incoming
call bill were:
1. When people call in on the 800 number take the local number they
are calling from and then call them back
