2.5.1p1 Could not load host key
OpenSSH 2.5.1p1 was compiled on two different Linux machines, both with glibc 2.2, libz-1.1.3 and openssl-0.9.6. Both had been running 2.3.0p1 successfully. On both, the new sshd failed: # ./sshd -d -d -d -D debug1: sshd version OpenSSH_2.5.1p1 debug1: load_private_key_autodetect: type 0 RSA1 Disabling protocol version 2. Compiling openssh-3.9p1 Without Kerberos
I'm trying to compile openssh-3.9p1 for an embedded Linux distro without kerberos support. I pass the flag --without-kerberos5 to configure and the script output indicates that I've chosen to not link against the kerberos libs: OpenSSH has been configured with the following options: User binaries: /usr/local/bin System binaries: /usr/local/sbin

Using -lssh as shared library
Hello! This is my first post to this list... ;) I'm not shure if someone will be interested in this topic. For me, it has interest, as long as I maintain 100+ unix (linux) servers with dialup access and every package update cost some significant time to download, so package size is somewhat important here. I looked to openssh and realized that package consists of several programs, all uses

Syncing sshd/krb GetAFSToken change to Portable: help wanted
Hi All. Recently a change was merged from OpenBSD's sshd into Portable that implements a KerberosGetAFSToken option (patchset attached). This change causes compile errors with both MIT Kerberos and Heimdal (errors when compiled with MIT Kerberos below). I've figured out that the functions called in the new code are in Heimdal's libkafs, so adding -lkafs to the start for the

NeXT 3.3 vs openssh-2.5.1p1 (Couldn't restore privileges)
Wanted to make openssh w/both -lwrap and BIND 8.2.3's -lbind on an m68k NeXT 3.3. Started w/then current openssh-2.3.0p1. Had to use -posix for compiler and loader to get -lbind to work, and had to throw out all openssh NeXT porting to get -posix to work. By the time I had it all working and installed, a security mailing list said there was a new openssh version released. Bagged
