Openssh-2.5.1p1 and Solaris 2.6 problem with ssh_rsa_verify
We recently upgraded from an older version of SSH to OpenSSH 2.5.1p1 (OpenSSH_2.5.1p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090600f) and are having problems on just a few hosts in our environment. The other 200 systems are working fine. Every once in a blue-moon it will connect with version 2. When I try to connect to or from one of these hosts using SSH2 I get the following error (I have sshd -d

(no subject)X-forward
No "ssh -X hostname" doesn't work. But when you "export DISPLAY=..." it works!? I set the the Display Hack so that I can see my IP with "env" or "echo SSH_CLIENT" when I'm connect via VPN-Tunnel and I don't know my IP in the Net I'm connected through. LBX Support : Where to start
I would like to put a patch in OpenSSH start lbxproxy on the server if both ends of the connection support LBX. I'm having difficulty figuring out where to put this code, specifically I can't seem to find where the X11 handshaking happens. Could someone help me out on this?? -Carl

X11 forwarding does not work as normal user
We installed openssh 3.1p1 on our Solaris 2.8 machine using gcc 2.95.2. During the installation, we modified ssh_config and sshd_config to enable X11 and agent forwarding. In sshd_config, we changed the following line to read: X11Forwarding yes In ssh_config, we changed the following two lines to read: ForwardAgent yes ForwardX11 yes Both files are set to permission readable

Xauthority location: only per-user setting possible
Hello all, $XAUTHORITY location has moved from under /tmp to ~/.Xauthority in 2.9p2. The commit message was: --- remove xauth-cookie-in-tmp handling. use default $XAUTHORITY, since we do already trust $HOME/.ssh you can use .ssh/sshrc and .ssh/environment if you want to customize the location of the xauth cookies --- The latter is true, but can only be enabled in per-user basis as far as I see.

xauth location in openssh-1.2pre17
The current configuration only works if xauth can be found at /usr/X11R6/bin/xauth, which creates some problems when running sshd on an openwin system. Contained below are patches to find the path of xauth in configure, and set the path in config.h. (also contained is a patch for configure for those without autoconf) Also-- added #include "bsd-daemon" to includes.h, which quiets a

Problem with X tunneling, su, and xauth
Hi all. I'm trying to use ssh to connect from a PC (using TerraTerm with the ssh add-in) to a Solaris 8 or Solaris 9 box (both running OpenSSH 3.7.1p2) to establish a session for X-forwarding. Everything works great, until I use "su" to change to another account (such as root). The su'd user doesn't seem to be able to authenticate properly to use the X-tunnel. I did a

X11 forwarding and LBX
So I'm working from home today, and for the first time I've tried running Evolution over a forwarded X11 connection. Even though work has a T1 and I have 640k at home, and ssh is compressing, it's ... rather slow. So I fire off lbxproxy and try to run an xterm to see if it works. No dice, authentication denied. Does anybody have any experience with this? Is it possible to run

Error when compiling for Solaris7
I cannot make openssh on Solaris. The 'make' fails on the first file. Here are the commands and the output. Essentially, I pre-built EGD, SSL, and ran: configure make make errors are listed at the bottom. Can anyone help me get this compiled on Solaris7? [PATCH] scp -S support
[Please Cc: me, I'm not on the list] fsh (http://www.lysator.liu.se/fsh/) is a program that keeps an ssh tunnel open and multiplexes multiple batch sessions through that single connection, avoiding slower public key crypto for things like cvs. fsh includes an utility called fcp that can multiplex file copies through this single connection. It relies on scp for the actual file copying,

scp -L option
Hi there, I have a need to have scp pass the -P option to ssh to "bypass" the packetfilters that doesn't allow connections to return to arbitary "priviledged" ports, ie. ports <1024. SELinux and rsh+xauth
Hello, I have a strange (for me) problem with these two machines : - Client, a CentOS-5.7 workstation ; - Server, a CentOS-6.2 headless, up-to-date server. From Client, I want to use xauth on Server with the help of rsh (yes, I know, ssh and all this sort of things... another time.) When SELinux is in permissive mode on Server, all these commands perform as expected : rsh Server
