PATCH: make contrib/redhat/sshd.init work with older RH releases
Damien--
Attached is a patch to contrib/redhat/sshd.init which eliminates the
dependency on the success() and failure() functions from
initscripts>=4.16. This allows sshd.init to be used for both early and
recent releases of Red Hat Linux (i've confirmed it works on both 4.2
and 5.2 as well as 6.2).
The patch also removes the 'Requires: initscripts >= 4.16' line from

FIPS 140-2 OpenSSL(2007) patches
Hi,
I am happy to (re)send a set of patches for compiling OpenSSH 4.7p1 with
FIPS 140-2 OpenSSL.
These are based on previously reported patches by Steve Marquess
<marquess at ieee.org> and Ben Laurie <ben at algroup.co.uk>,
for ver. OpenSSH 3.8.
Note that these patches are NOT OFFICIAL, and MAY be used freely by
anyone.
Issues [partially] handled:

Running two sshd's
Hi all,
I'm wondering whether it is feasible or not to run two distinct sshd
daemons with different config options!
I have a CentOS 4.4 gateway with 2 Ethernet interfaces. One is
connected to the Internet and the other to the LAN.
Basically, what I would like to do is having a sshd that listens to
the LAN interface with password enabled auth. and a sshd bound to the
Internet interface with

RHL init.d/sshd ipv6 hack
Hello all,
I'm using the attached patch.
With it, if you add
OPTIONS="-6"
in
/etc/sysconfig/sshd
(this kind of sysconfig/<name> is a pretty normal RHL practice), then you
can enable ipv4 and ipv6 on RHL without problems and without having to
modify the init.d/sshd script.
This or something like should IMO be added.

Couple of fixes for ogg123
I noticed that ogg123 still has its problem opening multiple devices. HereĀ“s a
patch that fixes that. I made it considerably easier by changing append_device
to return the new device struct instead of the head of the list each time. This
way, the options for the device are modified with the structure already in the
list, instead of building up options before doing so. I also moved an fprintf

Bug in initscripts? Problem with ifup-routes and alias device
Hello List,
I have one network card and added two IP-Adresses to it:
eth1 192.168.1.1/24
eth1:1 10.1.2.3/24
a want to use static routes on device eth1:1 and added one in
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-eth1:1:
GATEWAY0=10.1.2.4
ADDRESS0=10.2.2.0
NETMASK0=255.255.255.0
What the network-script should execute in background is:
ip route add 10.2.2.0/24 via 10.1.2.4 dev eth1
but it executes

Heads up: corrupt ifup-eth script in initscripts package on 5.7
Hi,
after a lot of head scratching I found that the ifup-eth script in the
initscripts package seems to be corrupt.
I filed a bug with the details here:
http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=5333
Given the nature of the corruption you might be not affected at all, see
strange error messages or end up with networking problems on Centos 5.7
depending on what you configuration looks like.

RPMs and initscripts on RH 6.x
Why the OpenSSH RPMs depend on initscripts >= 5 for RH6x?
I just rebuilt the 3.4p1 packages on Red Hat 6.1 (yeah, i know), using
initscripts-4.some.version.or.the.other (whatever was the last update to
that package) and it worked just fine.
Of course, i had to tweak the spec, otherwise it would refuse to budge,
but AFAICT it's working fine now.
I suggest to downgrade the dependency in the

CentOS 3.4 - i386 - errata - initscripts
There is an update to initscripts for CentOS 3.4.
The version packaged in the 3.4 isos missed the patch to remove the 10
second delay on boot with an 'unsupported configuration' .
This update reimplements the patch.
