I installed a squid 3.1.10.i686 squid to a centos 6.2i686. The proxy is
working fine with the default config.
After I decided to use it as a transparent proxy, I added two lines to

Solaris 8 and winbindd/wbinfo
Hi All,
I cannot get my Samba server 2.2.8 working with winbind correctly on Solaris
8.
I intend to use this to transparently authenticate squid 2.5stable2.
I compiled samba using gcc 2.95.3. configure options were
./configure --with-winbind-auth-challenge --with-winbind --with-pam
root# ./wbinfo -t
Secret is good
root# ./wbinfo -u
0xc0000022
The same thing with wbinfo -g.

How do I "normalise" a power spectral density analysis?
Hi everyone
Can anyone tell me how I normalise a power spectral density (PSD) plot of a
periodical time-series. At present I get the graphical output of spectrum VS
frequency.
What I want to acheive is period VS spectrum? Are these the same things but the
x-axis scale needs transformed ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Off topic -- when is max min = min max?
This question has little or nothing to do with R; as usual I'm simply
hoping to take advantage of the great depth of knowledge and
expertise in the R community.
Anyone who is interested in replying should send email directly to me
(rolf at math.unb.ca) and not to this list.
To get to my question: In a two person zero-sum game, the
value of the game to the row player is
v_r = max min

fairnat with squid + Squid with ZPH
Hi,
I''m trying to share internet on a LAN
I''ve a linux router with SQUID (with ZPH support) + FAIRNAT
The idea is:
- fairness sharing internet
- priorize interactive traffic
- if a web object is on squid-cache (HIT), user
can download it, with a rate = LAN rate
I''ve:
- Last Fairnat Script: www.metamorpher.de/fairnat/
- SQUID 2.5STABLE5 with ZPH patch

One of my actions runs for more than 2 minutes. In development mode it

Any ideas how i can stop this? I''m desperate to find a solution.
Is there a setting i can change somewhere?
Any help would be greately appreciated,

min password length
Hello!
I've discovered that setting "min password length" in smb.conf file it
is not enough when user changes password with windows "change password"
dialog, also its necessary to change account policy with pdbedit -P "min
password length" -C 4
Is that desired behavior to set same parameter twice?
Thank you

fencing timeout- increasing min time
What would the dangers/issues be within increasing the minimum time
before the fencing enforced panic of a node? We're hitting problems where
HBA multipath failover does not happen fast enough and we may need to up the
fencing timeout to something closer to 30-60 secs or more. Is this mostly a
performance impact or does it increase the window for corruption issues?
Looks like from the current

15 min pause during boot - Setting up logical volume management
Hi all,
I rebooted a server having a 20TB XFS volume under LVM and wait about 15 min to boot.
It stays at;
Setting up logical volume management
For 15 min then proceeds to boot fine.
During this time, I see the 14 disks of the 20TB volume flashing quickly as though being read.
Nothing in my logs to indicate bad behavior.
I am running the latest 6,4 kernel.
Any one see this before?

Min Frequency in findFreqTerms
I am using 'tm' package for text mining. I use the function findFreqTerms to
obtain the frequent words based on their frequency in the term document
matrix.
The following is the example given in the help page of this function:
library("tm")
data("crude")
tdm <- TermDocumentMatrix(crude)
findFreqTerms(tdm, 2, 3)

very large data set: min, max works but range fails
I want to do a simple histogram for a very large data set. I traced the
problem to the range() function and the storage.mode()<-"double"
assignment.
Below is a sequence that works for min() and max(), but fails for range().
