OSX zero file length problem
i have searched through the list archives and google, and can't find
anything similar.
client is running OSX 10.2.6
server is openbsd 3.2 and/or linux 2.4.x
rsync on both sides is version 2.5.5.
when i try to rsync a directory, all files get overwritten on the
server side with 0 file length. here is an example (server is .5):
[beldridg@rover]$ rsync -a -vvv -e ssh tool-etc/

Thank you very much for the example. I think interactively I could get
something.
But my obstacle is to write an R script that processes my set of data
automatically.
My difficulty is to extract the information that appears on the screen, when
R is operated interactively, from a scripts.
Let me go over some steps to make sure I am doing things right.
Assume my data have been read into the matrix

secureid and CA
Hello to all the Great "crypto" People (... my first time in this list ..)
I'm trying to compile openSSH-3.4p1 with the SecureID patch taken from:
http://www.omniti.com/~jesus/projects/openssh-3.4p1+SecurID_v1.patch
I'm having trouble to compile the patched openSSH over the Cygwin platform.
this is probably since there is no cygwin SecureID agent available , so i'm
using the

Fw: secureid and CA
> | The ACE server has _nothing_ to do with a CA
I know . But still there should be some kind of feature to offer
"centralized authentication" with no relying on the 2 ssh sides, anyone
agree ?
(I suggested the ACE for 3 reasons:
the team here find it reasonbly o.k - at list by looking in the archives
it's quite known
it's a good starting point - i think)

Wintab32 - Tablet support - VBtablet & wintab working for Dogwaffle?
I too would be very interested in knowing what's happening with wintab32
under wine - is it usable?
How about in conjunction with VBtablet from www.greenreaper.co.uk ? He has a
small test program there which reports pressure, angle etc.... you might
want to see if that works.
Does somebody on this list have a Wacom, AceCad, Pablo (Disney Magic Artist)
or Aiptek tablet to try Dogwaffle with

Minimize sshd log clutter/spam from unauthenticated connections
modern syslog daemons (including rsyslog, which is default on just about every
linux system) allow you to filter efficiently on the message contents, not just
the severity, so you can opt to throw out the messages you don't want.
I advocate for a slightly different way of dealing with it, filter these
messages from your main logstream, but put them into either a script directly,

Custom Quotas
Greetings
I'm currently working on a design, to integrate an IMAP server into our
existing mail architecture. It's proving to be a difficult exercise, mainly
because of how we structure our quotas.
In our system, the quota covers more than just email. We have a single quota
that covers email, ftp directory, and personal homepage. The quota is stored
in a mysql database, in a werid

We have been using Webalizer Version 2.10 - Streaming extention. It's not ideal and old but it works.

Default Path in sshd_config
I was just building binary Solaris packages of OpenSSH for use at
our company. While doing so, it occurred to me that the only thing
that really stops me from being able to make a binary build totally
relocatable in the filesystem tree is the default path. Other than
that, I cannot think of any file path that cannot be modified with
either a command line option or in a configuration file.

What are some programs to use to trace spoofers?
ALL,
Our Primary DNS has been broken into twice in the last week. The first
time it happened I noticed the hacker used named for means of gaining
entry. This guy was good at hiding his/her tracks so we reinstalled the OS
and left a minimum install to see if it was done again. We logged all
goings on from a secure remote machine. We got the hacker''s IP address and
even some of what

Partial authentication
Hello,
I would like to bring up the topic of possibly including partial
authentication functionality into OpneSSH again - it was discussed a few
weeks ago. I believe that implementing auth vectors was suggested as a way
to achieve this.
The reasoning behind the need for partial auth is that there are cases when
multiple methods of authentication are required for the user to be
successfully

OpenSSH 2.9p2 / SSH3 vulnerability?
I have a few questions:
1) Is OpenSSH 2.9p2 (or any other version of OpenSSH) vulnerable to the same problem as SSH3.0.0?
(described here:
http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/737451 )
2) There is a "SECURID" patch in the contrib section since 2.5.2p2. I am using it, but applying this
patch to each new version is growing more difficult as time goes on. Would you consider merging this

Veto files used to allow only one extension to be written to the share
Good night.
I am behind a way so that in my backup share it is possible to only write
files in the format of the application that I use to execute the backup
routines, for this I searched the internet for a solution that works like
Allow Files, however it is Complicated to find.
Talking on forums a user informed me that he could use the parameter to
follow in smb.conf, however in my tests it did
