server-side scp strangeness on linux
Hiya, [if this is a known issue/misconfiguration, please direct me to the right fm :-); if this is a wrong place to ask, please tell me the right one] I'm using the linux port of openssh-1.2.2. The issue is that server-side scp doesn't work: scp somefile me at myhost: seems to take forever, and does nothing. sshd -d shows that scp -t somefile is being invoked on server side, and stays

Lockdown ready for testing
Hi group As promised some months ago, I'm letting you know that lockdown is now ready for testing. Please don't study the code to much, I know it is a mess and therefore a rewrite is on it's way. But feel free to take a look at the features offered, how you use them and the default settings. When lockdown is ready for production usage, I'll release version 1.0. I guess that will

Interesting problem
A friend's machine just had his / partition goto zero percent free. This is an ext3 partition. Not an hour ago he had over 5 gigs free on an 8 gig partition. Any ideas where to look? The logs don't show anything unusual. -- My "Foundation" verse: Isa 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment

Authorization client connect failing
Hello, and thank you in advance for your valuable time. I am running Dovecot v1.0.rc15 on an OpenBSD 3.9 i386 machine (no time to upgrade yet). I downloaded the source from the dovecot site, compiled and installed without any problem. The server starts up find and runs for a while. After a few hours to a few days, the server stops sending the CAPABILITY statement when a client tries to

Broken Samba in OS X. Any Alternatives?
We all know that in Mac OS X 10.4, and in the upgrade 10.4.1, Apple managed to break Samba. Now, I am at a great loss for remote filesystem mounting. Not only is Samba broken, but NFS is questionable (I can never seem to get rid of that "incorrect username/ password" error and retain read/write abilities). Also, I'm have trouble with netatalkd for Debian. Are there any other

DHCP timeout and mysteriously dropping IP address
Hi everyone, I'me having trouble with a CentOS 7 guest running on a Hyper-V host. For some reason, the CentOS guest randomly drops its IP address. Running "systemctl restart NetworkManager" on the console will restore IP connectivity without a reboot. I think that DHCP is timing out, but I'm not sure what to do about it. Is there a way to tell NetworkManager to keep trying after

nvfx
Hi Marek Thanks a lot for your rebasing work. Here is my report : - all my games that broke with temporaries patch (they were either completely black or lot of black screen flash every frame) behave badly, but in different ways : * etracer is very slow and often crash in ttm code [1] (I think this is an old bug that just resurrected, no idea why) * foobillard is very slow and still flash a bit *

rsync -rcv printing out filenames when content identical
Hi, I'm heavly relying on rsync -nvrc during my day-to-day work in UNIX-like enviroment. I'm using rsync for few years now and today I've found a situation which I do not understand. I have two directories with few maildirs in it. Each maildir containg some emails. I'm testing scripts which I wrote to manipulate those emails. Each time I want to revert changes in one set of

[PATCH] do not invoke sub-make unless the 'cd directory' succeeds
If for some reason (directory missing or permissions bad), it is not possible to cd into either the scards or openbsd-compat direcotries, the make will enter an infinite loop. Correct this by changing the make idiom (cd directory; $(MAKE)) to the idiom (cd directory && $(MAKE)) so that a failure to cd into directory will generate an error for make. The following patch is against the

Asterisk / SIP-Call / AGI-Script / SIGHUP after Answer
Hi, I am facing a (for me) strange problem. When placing a SIP-Call I normally get connected and the dialplan is executed. The Call-Flow is controlled by a PHP-Agi-Script. The script answers the call (via AGI-Command) and a simple voicefile is played. SOMETIMES(!) I get disconnected immediately after the Answer - without any reason. This happens about all fifth call. Later on you will find

polkit helper timeout and defunct pkla-check-authorization processes on CentOS 7.3
Hi everyone, We seem to be having issues on multiple CentOS 7.3 machines. The problem seems to revolve around polkitd. At some random time, polkitd seems to stop responding on my systems. Along with this, there might be hundreds of defunct pkla-check-authorization processes. If I reboot, then things are fine for a while. I don't see any activity in the unabridged journal to suggest anything

Login failure with SElinux enforcing + Sqlite user DB
I am having a very strange issue with Dovecot + Sqlite + SELinux in enforcing. I am able to log in via IMAPS if SELinux is in permissive, but not able to do so when in enforcing. I do not see any SELinux denials even with dontaudit's enabled. I am running Centos 5 on x86_64 with a customized kernel build and SElinux Strict policy. The log dumps below are in the following order:? 1. My syslog
