OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 port to BSDI BSD/OS
BSD/OS 4.2 comes with OpenSSH 2.1.1p4, patched to support BSDI's authentication library. However, BSDI's patches have several problems: 1. They don't run the approval phase, so they can allow users to login who aren't supposed to be able to. 2. They don't patch configure to automatically detect the BSDI auth system, so they're not ready to use in a general portable

[PATCH] openbsd-compat/mktemp.c: Compile time error with gcc 3.4
Hi, the below patch avoids a compile time error on Cygwin, when using gcc 3.4.x. The #ifdef is superfluous anyway. [solaris 7 patch] resubmit and extended ...
Okay, everything as the first large one I sent today, with a few extra mods. _PATH_MAILDIR is only used in sshd.c, that I can see, so moved the #ifdef from config.h.in to there. several files had __progname defined in the middle of the code, as well as at the top of the code, so cleaned those out. all the fixes for u_int32_t -> uint32_t and u_int16_t -> uint16_t, plus added appropriate

what actually uses xdr_mem.c?
In regards to FreeBSD-SA-03:05.xdr, does anyone know which static binaries or tools under /bin or /sbin actually use that problem code? The recent XDR fixes the xdrmem_getlong_aligned(), xdrmem_putlong_aligned(), xdrmem_getlong_unaligned(), xdrmem_putlong_unaligned(), xdrmem_getbytes(), and/or xdrmem_putbytes() functions, but it is difficult to know what uses these (going backwards manually).

issue with EGD in openssh
There are a couple of issues regarding egd support in OpenSSH. 1) SIGPIPE is not ignored for the master listener daemon. I put the signal() call early on since it needs to be before get_random_bytes() is called but it could also be placed in the EGD version of get_random_bytes(). For some reason, with prngd I am getting SIGPIPE even though the prngd processes is not dying.

Determining Local IP Address within .profile
Hi ! I haven't found an easy solution to determine the local IP to which the remote SSH client is connected to the local SSHD. We use MC/Serviceguard which can create many Interfaces where a remote client could connect and we like to know within .profile which interface the client has connected to. I've looked at the sourcecode and maybe the following could do something I described :

Long awaited round 1 of NeXT patches.
This is about 90% of the core work. I omited a few files from the patch set since they are basicly small blocks of #ifndef HAVE_NEXT/#endif to get it to compile. Daimen, feel free to let me know what you applied and what your rejecting and why.. so I can work on cleaning things up. Andre, Only thing of note you may want to look into is NeXT does not use "ut_user" in it's lastlog.

Help request: merging OpenBSD Kerberos change into Portable.
Hi All. I'm looking for some help to merge an outstanding Kerberos credential cache change from OpenBSD into Portable. I don't know enough about Kerberos to figure out how that change should be applied for the non-Heimdal(?) code path. The outstanding diff is attached. sftp / latest snapshot
Hi! I have just played around a little bit with the actual CVS on HP-UX 10.20. - In openbsd-compat/Makefile.in the .c.o default rule is missing: .c.o: $(CC) $(CFLAGS) $(CPPFLAGS) -c $< - Linking sftp fails, because seed_rng() cannot be resolved. Actually it is in entropy.c (libssh) and needed by arc4random.c. A similar problem has been discussed several days ago and the problem should

passphrase for non existent key?
Hi there. I'm being asked for a passphrase for a key file that does not exist. See debug output below. Both client and server default to SSH2. Creating a DSA key without a password and copying the public portion to the server's authorized_keys2 allowed me to login w/o a password. I downloaded and installed the latest version of SSH from OpenBSD CVS, and now its asking me for the

[PATCH] Drop two useless HAVE_CYGWIN
Hi, the below patch removes two special cases for Cygwin, which are already superfluous for a good while. - openbsd-compat/bsd-openpty.c: Since openpty() is implemented in Cygwin now, the bsd-openpty.c code just isn't build into OpenSSH on Cygwin. So the Cygwin special case is useless. - When building OpenSSH for Cygwin, the minires-devel package (development package for the special
