Sneek peak at what was commited.
For those following the portable CVS tree.. I'd suggest holding off for a day or so unless you really want to get dirty. I just commited 32 patches from the OpenBSD tree, but have not worked out all the issues (due to Linux brain damage <sigh..Faster OpenBSD gets SMP..the happer I'll be>). The two things that need to be finished integrated in the configure.in is KRB5 and

openssh-2.9p2 compilation on LynxOS
To whoever can help me, I tried to compile OpenSSH-2.9p2 on i386-LynxOS. I made a # ./configure --without-pam --without-shadow \ --with-ssl-dir=/usr/local/ssl --with-pcre \ --disable-libutil --sysconfdir=/etc/ssh Then, # make gave the following error: gcc -o ssh ssh.o sshconnect.o sshconnect1.o sshconnect2.o sshtty.o reonf.o clientloop.o -L. -Lopenbsd-compat/ -L/usr/local/ssl/lib -lssh

A question on Compilation errors...
Hello I am attempting to build on a LynxOS platform and am using a old version of zlib and OpenSSL-0.9.6a. I get past the configure stage by ignoring the zlib version check. However, at make stage I run into the following undefineds. Any idea what may be causing this. I am using version 3.8p1 of OpenSSH. Thank you in advance for your response Amba (cd openbsd-compat && make)

patch for getting 2.1.1p4 to compile on SunOS 4
Hi. SunOS 4 is one system that relies on the strerror() in bsd-misc.[ch]. However, that replacement function does not have the right prototype. This is fixed in the patch below. There was also an error with sys_errlist not being explicitely declared. Also fixed. There was another weird link-time problem with bsd-misc.o being at the same time used by some *.o in libssh.a and using itself

Deprecated calls to bzero() and index() found in OpenSSH 6.1p1
Hello All, In reviewing source code for OpenSSH-6.1p1, I found instances of deprecated library calls still within various source code files. Examples of deprecated calls are: bzero() (replaced with memset() which is ANSI compliant), index() (replaced with strchr() which is also ANSI compliant). In file 'auth2-jpake.c', I've replaced all the bzero() calls with the equivalent

File Attachments for previous bug report
I have renamed all of the patch files to .txt, which should be acceptable for the mailer daemon at mindrot, per Angel's suggestion. I am attaching the patch files to the email, with the extra space removed and a minor correction made. sunos 4.1.4 Makefile and regex.[ch] fix
Hi, At the office, there is an old ss5 box running sunos 4.1.4. I have configured openssh using gcc on this machine. In doing so, I found a few compilation and configuration problems. 1. Compilation Problem. SunOS 4.1.4 doesn't have regex.h header nor the entry points regex.c is supposed to offer. Solution. Copy regex.c and regex.h from, say, GNU awk distribution to the openssh directory

openssh-3.1p1 on GNU/Hurd
Hi, I've gone and ported the latest version of openssh, 3.1p1, to GNU/Hurd. I've tried to learn from the other threads on this topic, but I still had to get rid of MAXHOSTNAMELEN where I could. [PATCH] Use canonical hostname for DNS SSHFP lookup
In the current implementation, ssh always uses the hostname supplied by the user directly for the SSHFP DNS record lookup. This causes problems when using the domain search path, e.g. I have "search example.com" in my resolv.conf and then do a "ssh host", I will connect to host.example.com, but ssh will query the DNS for an SSHFP record of "host.", not

Bug Report OpenSSH 2.3.0-p1-1.src.rpm for linux
Gentlemen: I'm running RedHat 6.2 here (out of the box, virtually no upgrades...) and while OpenSSH 2.2.0p1-2 will compile and run just fine, for some reason OpenSSH2.3.0p1 (Portable for Linux) will not. It configures just fine, but dies in the "make" as follows: ranlib libssh.a gcc -o ssh ssh.o sshconnect.o sshconnect1.o sshconnect2.o log-client.o readconf.o clientloop.o -L.

problems building openssh-5.8p1 on qnx
I am having trouble figuring out how to build openssh-5.8p1 for QNX 6.5. I am trying to build on linux, cross-compiling for armv7. If I configure like this: configure CC=ntoarmv7-gcc --host=i686-pc-linux-gnu --target=arm-unknown-nto-qnx6.5.0 then I get these errors: sshconnect.o: In function `timeout_connect': sshconnect.c:(.text+0x778): undefined reference to

IRIX cleanup.
Can I get someone from the IRIX group to apply this patch to the 3.0.2pX release and reconfigure/compile. I'm trying to clean out do_child() in perparation of a larger patch to that part of the code. Also if someone could give me the hint for the right compiler magic to wrap the code in instead of what I'm doing now. I'd be thankful. Thanks - Ben diff -urN
