Thanks Ken. I'll plan to sit down and look up the protocol information over the next week or so and follow up. ________________________________ From: Ken Olum <kdo at cosmos.phy.tufts.edu> Sent: Tuesday, January 14, 2020 1:35:10 PM To: David Zomaya Cc: kdo at cosmos.phy.tufts.edu; layne.fowler at gmail.com; nut-upsuser at alioth-lists.debian.net Subject: [EXTERNAL] Re: [Nut-upsuser]

Tripp Lite SMART1500LCD will not stay shut down when power is disconnected
I see, so you kept the load.on.delay command but removed the check to see if it was handled. Did you do the same thing for the shutdown.stayoff logic? https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/blob/master/drivers/usbhid-ups.c#L562 This might be a dumb question but did this require you to recompile the kernel? These types of changes are way beyond my depth. Thank you for the direction! On Thu, Jan

If you'd like, shoot me over your serial number and the corner-cases you don't have answers for and I can look into it. [EXTERNAL] Re: Tripp Lite SMART1500LCD will not stay shut down when power is disconnected
My serial # is 2835BY0SM886900639, model # SMART1500LCD. Using stock nut, my UPS will turn back on after load off, even with no power connected. Servers boot up and fail when the UPS finally dies. Using my patched nut, the UPS will fail to turn on if the power returns after the shutdown command but before actual load off. It seems like this UPS is missing the "load.on" and/or

DSA Fingerprints...
Hello, Questions, observations, and curiosities. Maybe this is something stupid or maybe I'm doing something wrong... But... In light of the Kurt Seifried paper on SSH and SSL, I was looking for the finger prints on my various servers and known hosts files to have a little crib sheet and maybe plug the list into a database on my palm pilot. I found that ssh-keygen lists out the

Tripp-Lite BCPERS450 shutdown/restart problems
From: Charles Lepple <clepple at gmail.com> Date: Thu, 11 Jan 2018 22:31:54 -0500 The trick will be adding support for this without breaking other models. For whatever it's worth, Tripp lite's software does not display the model number anywhere, so it may be treating all models the same. In case you are interested, this mapping between the "Path" and the

Tripp-Lite BCPERS450 shutdown/restart problems
Hi, Charles. Are you by any chance planning to address my problems where NUT does not know how to schedule a shutdown of this Tripp-Lite UPS? If not, could you point me in the right direction? My best understanding of the situation of the moment is that the right control is UPS.OutletSystem.Outlet.DelayBeforeShutdown but that NUT does not know to use that. Thanks.

Tripp Lite SMART1500LCD will not stay shut down when power is disconnected
Your suggestion of rebuilding the driver fixed the issue of the UPS turning back during a power failure. Now the UPS shuts down the clients, then powers off appropriately. If power returns it turns back on also. The only bug is if power returns before the UPS has turned the load off. In that case the UPS will remain off until it is manually turned on. This might just be a limitation of this

Strange problem with X11 forwarding...
Ok... This could be cockpit error, but I just don't see it. I've installed OpenSSH 2.1.0 and I can't get X11 forwarding to work. I don't recall having this problem under 1.2.3, but I don't use X11 forwarding often enough to really say that I actually saw it work either. Both sides are running OpenSSH-2.1.0-1 installed from rpm. The client side is running RedHat Linux 6.1

How do I find the client key?
All, This may be a simple question, but I can't find the answer... The situation... Clint "C" connects to server "S". On server "S" I can find the client IP (IPv6) address in the SSH_CLIENT environment variable. I also need the client public key. On the client side, the public key ends up added to .ssh/known_hosts but what happens on the server side? I

[beldridg@best.com: Re: [fw-wiz] SecureID vs Certificates]
Hmmm... You guys aware of this project to incorporate Smart Cards into ssh-agent? I remember hearing about some stuff for OpenSSL, but I don't recall hearing about this on the OpenSSH list or on the Muscle list. This would be a really nice thing... :-) Mike -- Michael H. Network Computing Newsletter article...
Hey gang... An SMB server comparison article just showed up at Network Computing. http://www.networkcomputing.com/1104/1104f3.html They compare three SMB servers including Samba 2.0.6 and we took first place (barely). Zinged us on central administration. Compaq's SMB server has central configuration and administration of multiple servers, which they liked a lot, apparently. Mike --

Tripp Lite SMART1500LCD will not stay shut down when power is disconnected
When running 'sudo upsmon -c fsd' UPS turns off then back on after a delay as expected. But when power is disconnected and the command is ran, the UPS turns off but still turns back on again. Changing 'ondelay' to -1 or 0 does not change the behavior. How can I get the UPS load to stay turned off if there is no power? Or am I misunderstanding how to test this functionality?
