R on os390
G'day R friends,
I didn't get any replies on the main list so I thought I'd try with the
experts.
I was wondering if anyone's ported R to os390. If so, are the vsize and
nsize limits the same as other platforms?
I could really annoy those SAS guys then.
thanks,

Latest Samba Disto for Os390/Unix ?
HI,I would be interested if there is a release of Samba for Os390/Unix
later that 1.9.
(I have tried downloading the 'samba-latest.tar.gz' file from the mirror
site,but as I cannot unzip/untar it,due to not having the 'gzip' program
!).
Therfore I am not sure how compatible it may or may not be with my
Os390/Uss platform.
Thanks for any help received in advance.
John.

Samba and system 390 Unix system services
I am new to working with samba. We have used samba for years connecting
our windows systems to Unix systems services on OS390. Starting in and
around November 2002 we can no longer connect. I have gone through the
troubleshooting techniques. Our Samba system is up running, the mount
points are correct and the config file tested out correctly. If any one is
doing this could you please forward

php+mssql support HowTO
Hi,
I took the following doc:
http://karlkatzke.com/centos-44-ms-sql-freetds-and-php/
(which now appears offline, but was written by Karl Katzke)
And ported it to CentOS 5.x (php-5.1.6) by modifying the php.spec that he
supplied
I'd like to import this into the wiki under the HowTO section. My username
is KyleODonnell
Let me know what you think.

improve ipfw rules
>> 3. I'm intrested in blocking kazaa/P2P trafic with IPFW any help in this
issue
you could possibly block connections at known p2p ports.
deny tcp from any to any 6699 step
but most of the newer protocols use dynamic ports and in turn, are
configurable.
so ipfw isn't exactly ideal on it's own for this.

Packet flow through IPFW+IPF+IPNAT ?
Hi.
On my FreeBSD 4.8 configured IPFW2+IPF+IPNAT and I use them all:
- IPFW - traffic accounting, shaping, balancing and filtering;
- IPFilter - policy routing;
- IPNAT - masquerading.
I want to know, how IP-packets flow through all of this components?
What's the path?
incoming: IPFW Layer2 -> IPFW&Dummynet -> IPNAT -> IPFilter ?
outgoing: IPFW Layer2 ->

sieve vacation alias handling problem
Hi,
I am using Dovecot LDA as LMTP renders envelope extension unusable.
The problem I have noticed is that when user has multiple aliases sieve
responds to all of them, not only to :addresses specified.
>From testing it seems that :addresses only adds addresses to the list of
"known" emails to check against. It is not limiting it.
As I understand, sieve should check if To: header

How to apitalize leading letters & else of personal names?
Dear R world,
Do you know about a function that would capitalize in the correct manner
first and family names?
I found in the cwhmisc only the CapLeading function, but it just does not do
the job, taking care only to capitalize the first letter of a word.
I am looking for a function that would recognize " |'|Mc|-" and capitalize
the first letter following these characters.

the first 2 x 250GB HDD and raid 0 on the second 2 x 250GB hdd, both on
hardware raid and then during the installation of centos 5, i raid 1 on both
