cross compilation?
../openssh-3.1p1/configure --host=mips-linux --build=i686-linux --with-pam does not work. It selects the correct toolchain prefix, but the configure script bails on cross-compilation. Attached is a patch that *might* make the right paranoid assumptions, but I am not positive. -- bryan --- configure.ac.orig Tue Feb 26 22:12:35 2002 +++ configure.ac Wed Mar 27 14:28:02 2002 @@ -437,20 +437,6

Error crosscompiling
Hi, I was trying to crosscompile dovecot, but I got some error: --with-notify=inotify don't work, as it try to run a test program to verify if inotify is supported in the building platform. Solved with --with-notify=dnotify. Ihmo, is more a hack than a solution. | checking whether posix_fallocate() works... configure: error: cannot run test program while cross compiling I can't

[2.2.0p1] patch: generic detection of correct getpgrp() invocation
Hi. Several OSes have a getpgrp() function that takes an argument, unlike what POSIX mandates. NeXT was covered, but SunOS wasn't. This provides a generic solution through autoconf. getpgrp
These days, sshd.c has: static void grace_alarm_handler(int sig) { ... if (getpgid(0) == getpid()) { signal(SIGTERM, SIG_IGN); killpg(0, SIGTERM); } sigdie(...); } however (really) old BSDs do not have getpgid(). They do have getpgrp(), which does what we want here. The question is what to do if we have neither: return the pid (and thus

Linux 2.2 + borken mmap() round 1
The following is just a simple 'if ANON|SHARE is broken, disable compression'. We don't have time for fancy stuff until we have time for long term testing. I have one friend of mine testing this. Can I get a few other people to test. This is against --current, but maybe work against 3.3p1. Unsure. BTW.. those on NeXT platform (if you have autoreconf) should also test this. this

patches for alpha
Recently I reviewed my RPM spec files for DU 4.0, and noticed that I forgot to post some problems + patches: 1. ./configure fails to choose a PIC flag, I simply removed the AC_MSG_ERROR and it works. reload not working
I upgraded to the latest CVS yesterday (and this morning again), and whenever I execute the reload command Asterisk seems to hang. While the current calls aren't dropped, no new calls can be made. The CLI isn't responding properly either. The only way to get going again is to exit the CLI and stop Asterisk and start again. Any comments? Thanks, Marcus

ao: Sun audio plug-in
Here's the promised Sun audio system plug-in. I have tested this on OpenBSD. It should work without changes on NetBSD, too. Jeremy, could you please verify this? After a few minor tweaks it now also compiles on Solaris 2.7. Alas, I can't verify whether it actually plays anything there. I guess this could also with little effort be made to work on SunOS4. [LLVMdev] Using LLVM as a crosscompiler
Hello, Koen. > So my question is: How should I build llvm and llvm-gcc4 to have it cross-compile from x86 > to ARM/EABI? Well, just supply appropriate --host/--target options to configure. I haven't tried ARM, but this definitely works for crosscompiling from linux to mingw32. Please also note, that you'll need native (=arm) tools (binutils, libcheaders, etc) during gcc build

"Best" VoIP provider for Asterisk?
Hello! I would like to get connected with a VoIP provider for home. At some point, I'm sure I will be connecting to it via an Asterisk box, but for now, I will be using whatever hardware they provide. What recomendations do you in the Asterisk community have for a reliable VoIP service that will hopefully interoperate with Asterisk? A company that is actually willing to work with an

open/stat64 syscalls run faster on Xen VM than standard Linux
Dear all, When I debugged the execution performance of an application using strace, I found there are some system calls like open and stat64 which run faster on XenLinux than the standard Linux. The following is the output of running "strace -c /bin/sh -c /bin/echo foo" on both systems. An open call runs averagely 109 usec on standard Linux but only 41 usecs on XenLinux. An stat64

OpenSSH 2.3.0p1: HP-UX 11.00 64-bit
I have encountered a problem with using OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 on 64-bit HP-UX 11.00 systems. This bug does not exhibit itself on any 32-bit HP-UX 11.00 or HP-UX 10.20 systems that I have built 2.3.0p1 on. OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 was built with HPs ANSI C compiler with OpenSSL 0.9.6 and zlib 1.1.3. The problem is with the call to vhangup(2) in sshd when interactive sessions are started. The problem does not
