OCFS compatibility with Legato
Hi All
Does anyone have information on OCFS compatibility with Legato.
i.e Can we use Letato to backup directly from OCFS Volumes.
Also does OCFS work with BCV.
R'gds

ocfs seek-performance
hi list,
i have a little problem with 2-node RAC using OCFS. the application running on this cluster does
heavily index-based accesses. the data volumes are SAN volumes connected by fibrechannel.
the throughput does not exceed 10mb/s, average is 7-8 mb/s. i've used 'iostat -x' and got rkB/s=8000
while %util=100% (device was saturated) from kernel's POV.
i did some

ocfs doesn't free space?
an ocfs-volume was nearly full (only 800MB free). i deleted some
datafiles to free space:
$ df -h .

so there are more than 4GB available.

Problem with zcat uncompressing man pages
Hi
When I read 'certain' -- not all -- man pages zcat writes a small error to stderr when opening the man page; however, the man page does actually open. The message i get on the terminal is:
zcat: error writing to output: Broken pipe
zcat: /usr/local/man/man5/muttrc.5.gz: uncompress failed
When closing the man page, another message is shown on stderr:
grotty:<standard input>

manually invoking routing?
Hey folks. I have a rails controller which is filtering search results
for access control. The search results are typically URLs into the rest
of the rails app. I''m finding it would simplify the grotty code which is
accumulating if I could manually invoke the router. That is to say, if I
could send something a URI path string and get back the hash of
controller, action, and params that

preloading child rows just a level deeper...
hiho.
following problem.
i have 3 tables in my database with each representing an object.
lets say
A belongs_to B belongs_to C.
when i do
my_a = A.find(:all)
i can access B as my_a.b and C as my_a.b.c
thats fine but rails querys the database each time i do that
so is use
my_a = A.find(:all, :include => :b)
works fine for my_a.b but not for my_a.b.c
so i tried
my_a = A.find(:all, :include

How to use alias interface ?
HiHo,
I'm using wine since a couple of years for a private Diablo game server.
Now, while installing a new server I've a problem where neither the
Wine-Doc nor the Wine-Faq or Google could help me in any way.
My problem with the new server is that I need to configure (or better
restrict) my wine to use my alias-interface instead of the primary one.
I already found the following stuff

Promise TX4302 working with -stable?
Hiho! :-)
I'm planning to buy a Promise TX4302. The idea is to just plug in some
disks via esata and then put zfs on them.
Anybody got some experience with the TX4302? Googling didn't really
turn up much, so I guess the controller "just works"? :-)

HiHo!
I don't know wether this is an old one, but I've never seen this

Due to security issues I updated our servers to samba-2.2.8 with the
following "configure"-options:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/samba-2.2.8 --with-pam --with-ldapsam

After the update I'm experiencing strange behaviour when deleteing

__stderrp problem again with tk83
Hiho,
I just stumbled across the problem with the unresolved
__stderrp symbol. I've read the existing threads to that,
as well as UPDATING. However, there are some differences,
between the reported problems and my problem:
1. the unresolved symbol is not complained about in libm,
but in libtk83.so from the tk-8.3.5_1 port.
2. I _did_ install all the compatibility libs for
3.x, I even
