Bug in AFS token forwarding
There is a bug in the code for getting AFS tokens in function
send_afs_tokens() in sshconnect1.c
Here is how the bug manifests itself:
If I have an AFS token that is still valid _and_ one that was valid but
is now expired then AFS token forwarding ignores both tokens instead
of forwarding the still valid one.
I can reproduce this problem on Red Hat Linux 7.2 systems with
OpenSSH-3.4p1 (and

OpenSSH 3.0p1+AFS+PAM on Solaris 8
Seems like AFS support uses a structure in ioctl.h that requires
sys/ioccom.h to be included beforehand. The following patch checks for
this header file, and makes sure it is included. I don't have the
latest auto* tools, so I hand-synthesized "configure"; hopefully this
doesn't mask typo's in its sources.

Weird feature when creating function lists with apply
Hi R-fellows,
can anyone explain this weird feature? I am trying to create a list of
functions with apply, and it appears that there is something strange going
on when the function evaluates the argument a. When I duplicate a into a
local variable b, the result changes !?!
Any pointers? Thank in advance. Cheers,
Uffe

pbinom with size argument 0 (PR#8560)
Full_Name: Uffe H?gsbro Thygesen
Version: 2.2.0
OS: linux
Submission from: (NULL) (130.226.135.250)
Hello all.
pbinom(q=0,size=0,prob=0.5)
returns the value NaN. I had expected the result 1. In fact any value for q
seems to give an NaN. Note that
dbinom(x=0,size=0,prob=0.5)
returns the value 1.
Cheers,
Uffe

Accuracy problem in dchisq for non-central chi-squared
Hi,
I think I have identified a inaccuracy in dchisq when the non-centrality
parameter is non-zero and large. Here's a little test:
sys.dchisq.test <- function(N = 100000,mean = 0)
{
z <- rnorm(N,mean = mean, sd = 1)
x <- z^2
xmin <- min(x)
xmax <- max(x)
br <- seq(xmin,xmax,length = 101)
dbr <- br[2]-br[1]
hist(x,br)
p <- dchisq(br,df = 1,ncp =

Minor bug in ssh_connect1.c when AFS is defined.
- I'm not really sure if this is a bug in openssh or in
Kth's krb4-1.1. Anyway, if you define --with-afs=/usr/athena[1]
and --with-kerberos4=/usr/athena on
Solaris 2.7, you need to apply this minor patch to get
the client to build.
- You could argue that kafs.h should include these sys
files since it uses macros inside them.

Building openssh-3.5p1 with new DES functions
Hi,
I've installed openssl-0.9.7 and now am testing current openssh-cvs.
The kerberosIV installation has it's own libdes.a. I'm quite please
openssh built successfully, congratulations! Unfortunately, kerberos
autentication is not tried at all. As far as I remeber, Ja Iven who wrote
some patch, which as he said got into 3.5p1 also removed the ifdef's that
--with-privsep no longer

openssh 2.9p1 on Solaris 2.6 with AFS
Jan,
maybe I should check the /afs information that you pointed me at
in a subsequent email first, but I wanted to update you on what
happened following this path:
I did get some mileage out of both of your suggestions below,
but still did not make it through (now working with openssh-2.9p2):
gcc -o ssh ssh.o sshconnect.o sshconnect1.o sshconnect2.o sshtty.o
readconf.o clientloop.o -L.

ssh-3.5p1 core dumps on Solaris 2.6
Hi,
I've reported this problem a month ago on this list, and probably no-one
is interested? Binaries were configured with krb4 and afs enabled.
However, only the second crash seems to be related to krb4.
Any thoughts?
I had to add one line to includes.h:
#include <sys/types.h>
#include <sys/socket.h>
#include <sys/ioctl.h>
+#include <sys/ioccom.h>
#include

R-beta: R on AIX running with errors
Hi,
I am doing a project to make R-0.61.1 available on 30 IBM RISC/6000
machines running AIX 4.1.5.0. Running the make command works fine after
some changes, but R does not behave as it should.
Here some examples of error messages which I get:
> plot(1:20)
Error: Length cannot be negative
> hist(1:20)
Error in seq(z$l, z$u, length = z$n + 1) : negative length vectors are not

3.0.2 AFS login problem, Solaris 2.5.1
I've been beating myself senseless trying to build OpenSsh 3.0.1 on Solaris
2.5.1 and get AFS login working.
The symptoms of the problem are: sshd builds (used --with-afs and
-with-kerberos4 - there is no PAM on this box), accepts connections from
non-AFS users, but does not accept a connection from an AFS user; the user
sees "permission denied" after entering the password.

copy d:\bugs.ps \\ouessant\lexmark
after having deleted all the samba log files and restarted the SMBd daemon from the SWAT Web interface.
This leads to the INTERNAL ERROR, see samba.oulx
Now, to locate the problem, I tried the same kind of command on the same file, bugs.ps, but using the SMBCLIENT application from the Linux server itself, without changing anything, nor restarting the SMBd
