patch for TIS (skey/opie) *and* passwd auth via PAM
Hello,
appended is a patch that makes it possible to use PAM both for
password authentication and TIS (i.e. s/key or opie or any other
interactive challenge/response scheme). I have developed this starting
from the patch at http://www.debian.org/Bugs/db/61/61906.html on
Debian with openssh-2.1.1p4-3. After configuring ssh with
--with-pam-tis, there are two PAM services, "sshd" and

OpenSSH 2.5.1 compatibility problem

OpenSSH 2.5.1p1
I am using my Linux box as an Internet gateway. I wanted to keep
the box as secure as possible while still having the functionality I
needed. The only way to connect to my server is through SSH. A fair

Here is a little patch against 2.9p1 that performs the SNK (also known
as TIS authserv) challenge-response automaticly instead of asking the
user. hope you find it useful.

chroot.diff
Hi there, everyone;
I've had a few requests for an updated version of my chroot patch. (the
version found in contrib is outdated)
So, here it goes, updated to 2.3.0p1; "chroot.diff" is a plain diff for
session.c (apply, compile and go). "chroot+configure.diff" is the same
patch, plus an option to "configure" for enabling/disabling chroot support

[PATCH] Added option 'RetryDelay'
Being rather aggrevated when testing at the enforced 1 second
delay between each connection attempt and the useless 1 second delay
done after all connection attempts have failed I wrote a patch to make
the number of seconds delayed between each connection attempt
configurable.

Solaris wtmpx patch
Hi,
Solaris (tested with 2.6) needs a username in the logout record in the wtmpx
file. Currently openssh (version 2.3.0p1) leaves the username (utmpx.ut_user)
empty in logout records, which leads to conflicting results from the last
command. Example:
# last -5 siegert
siegert pts/186 stikine.ucs.sfu. Mon Jan 15 14:26 still logged in
siegert pts/105 stikine.ucs.sfu. Mon Jan 15

openssh2.3.0p1 and /etc/limits
Hi!
I wrote a small patch to enable /etc/limits support in openssh. nice
thing when you don't have PAM installed..
It is based on Ultor's openssh 1.x patch
(http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=secure-shell&m=96427677022741&w=2)
Works fine on slackware7.1. define USE_ETC_LIMITS in config.h , and
compile as usual.

Problem and Patch: Multiple keys in ssh.com V2 agent
Hello!
I recently discoverd a problem with ssh.com's ssh-agent2 and OpenSSH:
If I have more than one key in my agent, then the agent tries to
authenticicate me with every one of them at the OpenSSH server; but none
of them is a valid key for that server. The Problem is that the Server
increments the authctxt->attempt at every of that tries. So even if you
want to login with a password at

OpenSSH 2.3.0p1: Broken pipe / SIGPIPE
Dear OpenSSH gurus! ;-)
I recently upgraded from "OpenSSH 2.1.1p4" to "OpenSSH 2.3.0p1"
on my Linux 2.2.17 box with OpenSSL 0.9.5a (RedHat 7.0).
According to the "ChangeLog", there was a change in SIGPIPE
handling:

Solaris 2.6 + Expired Password Annoyance
The latest snapshot works well for me, except for one minor annoyance.
When logging into an account with an expired password, OpenSSH asks
for the current login password twice and then it asks for the new password.
Other than that, everything works swell.

Important fix (sshd && binding). Portable version only.
If bind() fails we _always_ should close socket. I sent this patch while ago
to djm but I still don't see this fix in openssh_cvs.

OpenSSH 2.3.0p1: HP-UX 11.00 64-bit
I have encountered a problem with using OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 on 64-bit HP-UX
11.00 systems. This bug does not exhibit itself on any 32-bit HP-UX
11.00 or HP-UX 10.20 systems that I have built 2.3.0p1 on. OpenSSH
2.3.0p1 was built with HPs ANSI C compiler with OpenSSL 0.9.6 and zlib
1.1.3.
The problem is with the call to vhangup(2) in sshd when interactive
sessions are started. The problem does not

portfolio.optim and assets with weigth equals to zero...
Hello.
I don't understand a particular output of portfolio.optim (tseries).
I have 4 assets and the portfolio.optim returns an asset with weight equals
to zero.
If I do a portfolio.optim with 3 assets, without the asset with weight
equals to zero,
it returns a completely different result.
That's I would expected the same weights as the run with 4 assets.
Below the code.

OpenSSH-2.3.0p1 - debug: no match: OpenSSH_2.3.0p1
disclaimer: i am not subscribed to the list.
i just compiled OpenSSH-2.3.0p1 and replaced OpenSSH-2.2.0p1.
i noticed that OpenSSH-2.3.0p1 does not match itself in compat.c
the problem seems to be in line 65 of compat.c,
{ "^OpenSSH[-_]2\\.[012]", SSH_OLD_SESSIONID },
it looks like the regex needs to be expanded to include 3:
{ "^OpenSSH[-_]2\\.[0123]", SSH_OLD_SESSIONID

openSSL without problems.
Strange to me that on Linux 2.2.18 I
