[PATCH] Separate CFLAGS and CPPFLAGS
If you want to override CFLAGS on the make line (eg. "make CFLAGS='-O3'"), you lose because you end up stomping preprocessor flags as well. Preprocessor should be in CPPFLAGS. The following patch takes care of this. -Fred Index: Makefile.in =================================================================== RCS file: /cvs/Darwin/Services/OpenSSH/openssh/Makefile.in,v

[PATCH]: Port to Mac OS X/Darwin, misc
Below I've includes a patch which helps build OpenSSH outside from a read-only source tree, find OpenSSL on Mac OS X, and fix a typo. This applies to OpenSSH 2.1.1p4. You should already have gotten a note from Melissa O'Neil about a conflict with the crc32() symbol in zlib, which was causing a crash on Darwin. I've noticed another bug. If ssh is setuid, I get a permission

SECURITY: passwd problem (second edition)
[Mod: Other lists removed from the headers. The patch looks okay but I did not really checked it line by line -- alex] Last night I sent to redhat-list a letter with a patch. After sleeping a little I found that my patch is not enough correct. Now I post the new patch and description of the problem. In redhat distribution passwd program uses PAM, namely, pam_unix_passwd.so. This module use

[LLVMdev] Group Rate At Cupertino Inn For Developer's Meeting
Good News, Because the meeting was originally scheduled for Apple, Cupertino Inn has allowed us to use the Apple discount rate ($123.00 instead of $185.00). You should request that rate if your stay involves checkout on any weekday (i.e. thursday night). However, that rate is flat for any night. So, if you want to stay over Friday night into the weekend, just get their usual (already discounted)

[LLVMdev] 2007 LLVM Developer's Meeting
All, I'm pleased to announce that we will be holding a 2007 LLVM Developer's Meeting in a few months. This is a great opportunity for everyone to share ideas, plan the future, and get to know one another. The poll taken at the end of last year indicates a strong interest in such a meeting. This is just an announcement that the meeting will go forward. Further details will be forthcoming.

[LLVMdev] Developer Meeting Location Update
Hi Everyone, As it turns out, all of the meeting rooms at apple are booked for the devmtg, due to close proximity with the WWDC conference. As such, we found a great room at the Cupertino Inn. This shouldn't affect travel plans, as it's right across the street from Apple. If you're planning to stay at the cupertino inn, you just won't have to walk anywhere :) -Chris --

Hi All, We've pinned down a hard date for the 2nd annual LLVM Developer meeting: August 1, 2008! The meeting will be held on the Apple Campus, in Cupertino, CA. We've got a great space with two separate rooms that are next door to each other, one that comfortably holds 40 people and one that holds 50 people. In addition, there is a large area outside either room with big

Dear LLVMers and Clangers (did I say that right?), I received the following email from Daniel Stephenson at Apple and thought it would be of interest to those in the LLVM and Clang communities.
