how beta is ppc centos 4?
Hi there, I am looking for a rhel close to run on a PPC. I have used centos for a while and want to stick with what I know. I know there is a V4.0 PPC beta version. How safe is it to use? I have a server that will be going into production, and am hesitant to use a beta product (as one should never use anyways). What is the status of the PPC version? Is it going to be continued to be developed? Is

Hi All, The only Centos PPC distro that I could find is at: http://vault.centos.org/4.0beta/isos/ppc Is there an official (non-beta) release of Centos 4 (or better yet Centos 5)? If not, are there plans for such a release? Best Mike

OK. time to make some contribution (centos4/ppc)
Hi, Even now someone is actually installing (i see that from the ftp-server logs) the centos-4/ppc beta-version from announced place. You people have to stand up and _TELL_ me what kind of hardware _IS_ working, so we would know more than already know - 43p works. I can't believe that all those, who installs, does have 43p too? Please? Something, so if it's actually working on

CentOS PPC architecture support
I have a system with a PowerPC cpu which I'd like to run CentOS on in a production environment (albeit for a home personal server.) Does anyone know if the CentOS team are actually going to support PPC? I have found a page which states release 4 is in beta[1]. But little else. Is there lack of demand for support for this aging arch? Is there a lack of volunteers? I'd be willing to

CentOS 5 PPC
There has been some discussion about PPC on this list, and I was looking at the CentOS homepage, and it states that support for the PPC architecture is in progress. Is there actually a V5 (CentOS) PPC download? I have been looking for it on the site without luck. For example http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5/isos/ only has i386 and x86_64. I have an old G4 with dual processors I want

[LLVMdev] Building LLVM on PPC
Please don't be alarmed by the failed compiles on llvm-ppc-darwin. They are likely not your fault. I'm trying to get a PPC build bot setup (arxan_bellini), and so far it's dying here: Linking CXX shared library ../../lib/libgtest.dylib Undefined symbols: "vtable for llvm::raw_ostream", referenced from: __ZTVN4llvm11raw_ostreamE$non_lazy_ptr in gtest.cc.o

More Altivec/PPC Stuff...
Sorry that it has been a while since the last altivec patch. I have noticed something interesting, and so it remains unfinished... On the ppc, even with the altivec optimizations, almost a quarter of the time is spent in FLAC__stream_encoder_process(). I finally discovered that it is because of all the integer to float conversions. Aside from being exceptionally slow on the g4, they

cross compling openssh-3.5p1 for ppc
Greetings: ------------ BACKGROUND -------------------------- I am using the Monta Vista development kit on an Intel RedHat Linux platform... the target is PPC_405. The configure utility that comes with the openssh-3.5p1 code will not support cross compilation. It gives an error message about not being able to test its results and then exits before it creates a Makefile. To get around this
