5.5 ISO size vs RHEL
Hi
We use CentOS and RHEL, the 5.5 RHEL ISO for x86_64 is 3.7GB (**), the CentOS one
is 4602MB (***) split over two DVDs. Is this reasonable and correct? Any ideas
why would there be such a discrepancy if they are built from the same (or very
similar) source?
Regards
Anthony Caetano
** the md5sum checks out, and RHN lists the size as 3,532 MB

New and more general Function Merging optimization for code size
Hi Hal,
Because my function merging strategy is able to merge any two function,
allowing for different CFGs, different parameters, etc.
I am unable to use just a simple hash value to compare whether or not two
functions are similar.
Therefore, the idea is to have an infrastructure which allows me to compare
whether or not two functions are similar without having traverse the two
function

Max Payne
Hi
I'm trying to run Max Payne in Ubuntu 11.04. It installs fine and I have patched it whithout problems. But when I try to run it it says 'Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application', even though the cd is already in the drive. Is there something I can do to avoid this? I have read in some other threads that it could be something about the copy protection

[PATCH] add nls_base and nls_cp437 to module whitelist
Hi,
Debian ships these two as modules so they're currently missing in the
initramfs. Whithout these two modules one can't virt-inspect Debian's
hd-media installer:
http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian/dists/lenny/main/installer-i386/current/images/hd-media/boot.img.gz
Can this be added?
Cheers,

rsync directory with symbolic links
Hi all,
I have a problem synching a directory that as symbolic links.
The behavior is:
If a symlink is relative (like ../../file) the link is copied correctly
If a symlink is absolute (like /root/document) the link is copied like
(root/document) whithout the first slash.
By the way some link are not usable.
I use rsync 2.5.5 protocol 26 and the command is
rsync -varlRHpogDtxP .

I can now shutdown the ups using "upscmd -u admin myups shutdown.return".
My first question is, is it really ok to only take the driver whithout
taking the whole package?
I'm using upssched to shutdown server after 15mn on battery, the

Inconsistency in LSA database prevents me to edit DNS zone
Hi all
A few month ago I had to change the IP address of my DC running Samba 4 and
Bind 9 as backend, in a LXC container running Debian 8u2.
I followed this documentation
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Change_IP_address_of_an_Samba_AD_DC
The documentation was rather good, but I found it was incomplete while
updating the DNS entries with
samba_dnsupdate --verbose
I had to use the DNS

[LLVMdev] Dubious Library Dependencies
Now that we have a "-why" option to the GenLibDeps.pl utility (which is
used by llvm-config to deduce library dependencies), a review of the
output has led to a few dubious library dependencies. Here they are:
All of the following dependencies are singletons (the dependent library
depends on only a single symbol from the dependency library):
