ordered shutdown
Hallo there. I'm new to this list and also to NUT. Our previous ups-system was APC based and apcupsd was serving the ordered shutdowns in our network. Our new ups is made by MGE and that's why we can't use apcupsd anymore. This led us into trouble. Our network system is quite complex and we need shutdown sequence levels. The servers depend on each other because of NFS and SQL

sigchld_handler2.
On 2.3.0p1, we have been experiencing the SSH2 stdout truncation problem that was reported by a few users. I built the 20010115 snapshot. It seems to correct the problem but before I was able to test it, I had to change sigchld_handler2 so it would not reset the signal handler before waitpid is called. On Irix, it seems a SIGCHLD is delivered for ever... I haven't tried the last snapshots so

OpenSSH Security bug: port forwarding
Hi. OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 exhibits the following behavior on Linux 2.2.5. I believe this is a bug. Can anyone else replicate this? On any given SSH machine (let's call it 'test'), start ssh like this: ./ssh -L2526:mail.blah.com:25 -f mail.blah.com sleep 1000 (where mail.blah.com is some machine running sendmail, you have a login account, etc.) In a just world (and this works with

TMD card to buy.
Hi Rich, good advice about buying grandstream SIP handsets instead of using analog handsets though I think you might that using a 30 channel E1 in Hungary is tough to get. Can you also explain to him about Channel Banks. minor bugs in openssh-2.3.0p1
Hi, I found that there are minor bugs in openssh-2.3.0p1. There are some function checking for 'entutx?ent' in configure, but its typo, it must be 'endutx?ent'. Thus endutx?ent() was never called. configure.in:line 296 entutent -> endutent configure.in:line 299 entutxent -> endutxent configure:line 2263 entutent -> endutent configure:line 2373 entutxent ->

smbpasswd does not work for normal users in 1.9.18p4
Hi everyone, It seems to me that smbpasswd does not work for normal users in Samba version 1.9.18p4. If I invoke it as root, then there is no problem with it, but if I invoke it as a normal user, then I get the following: $ smbpasswd -D 99 Old SMB password: New SMB password: Retype new SMB password: Connecting to 127.0.0.1 at port 139 write_socket(3,76) write_socket(3,76) wrote 76 Sent session

R^2 in linear regression
Hello, I was doing a linear regression with the following formula: lm(y~x+0), so it passes through the origin. But when I called the summary of the regression i saw that R squared is abnormally high (it's a lot lower in other programs such as SigmaPlot and MS Excel). The manual explained the cause of the difference (because of the different computing method), but what should I do to get the

[LLVMdev] How to check Apple's LLVM build number?
Happy New Year to everyone! I'm trying to track whether this bug: http://llvm.org/viewvc/llvm-project?revision=163923&view=revision has been fixed in the Apple LLVM version we use: Apple LLVM version 4.2 (clang-425.0.28) (based on LLVM 3.2svn) Any ideas how I can check that? ESRI Shapefile for EU-25
Hi all, who knows how to get an ESRI Shapefile for the NUTS-2 Regions of the enlarged European Union? Particularly I want to draw maps of Germany, Poland, Czech Republik, Hungary and Austria. I've found Shapefiles for the US, Russia and other countries elsewhere in the web, but for Europe it seems really difficult. With many thanks for any hint Albrecht

mbox 2 Maildir
W/o downtime: see the wiki page below, the "Converting" section. Briefly for my case something like this should work and generally seems simple (no syntax checking yet, pseudo-code like): * Configuration uses mail_location = mbox:~/mails * setup per-user mail location and do for each user individually in a serial manner: -- doveadm sync maildir:~/Maildir; mbox is synced to Maildir,

IAX tollfree extension conf
Hi, I recall seeing a sample extensions.conf file that allowed tollfree calls to be routed via iaxtel to the US and the NL, but I must be going blind, because I've scoured the list but can't find it. Can someone send it to me if they have it? Much appreciated. Thanks! --- Paul Cheng M?ty?s kir?ly ut 10 H-1121 Budapest HUNGARY paul.cheng@alum.mit.edu mobile: +36 30 381-9311
