2.3.0p1: terminal baud rate is 300
When using OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 on HP-UX 11.00 the terminal's baud rate is 300, causing non-desired effects in vi and Emacs: vi only shows a few lines, and Emacs adds a huge delay after each line of output. When connecting via TELNET, I get at least 9600 baud. Should the login procedure mess with the baud rate? Regards, Ulrich P.S. I'm not subscribed to the list.

/dev/random for HP-UX 11.00
Hi, I "developed" an implementation of /dev/random for HP-UX 11.00 that can be used to speed up entropy gathering for OpenSSL/OpenSSH implementations on HP-UX 11.00. It is still a first release, lots of stuff still to be done, but interested people can take a look at: http://www.josvisser.nl/hpux11-random/ Share and enjoy! ++Jos.nl P.S. HP-UX 11.00 samba 2.2.* smbd SIGSYS in pread
configure determines that my HP-UX 11.00 box has pread (and pwrite) because the linker resolves them to symbols in my libc. however, i don't believe that this system call is implemented in my version of the kernel because smbd dies with a SIGSYS (bad arg to sys call) in libc:pread. my workaround was to override what configure automatically determines ac_cv_func_pread=no \

Cannot connect to OpenSSH 1.2.3 running on HP-UX 11.00

Any suggestions? This happens if I connect using OpenSSH from the same box or another one (running the Linux version of OpenSSH). BTW: OpenSSH didn't compile out-of-the-box. I had to disable

sshd fails to accept connections on HP-UX 11.00
Hello, we run OpenSSH_2.3.0p1 on HP-UX 11.00. Today I had a problem connecting to a machine via SSH. The connection seemed to hang. Syslog showed nothing, and no sshd processes were started, although I had two hanging connections (no output). I logged in via telnet and found one sshd (master) running in addition to a ssh-agent from a session that went away. That ssh-agent was owned by my

64-bit HP/UX 11.00 wtmp corruption identified
I spent some time with 3.0.2p1 to discover why OpenSSH on HP/UX 11.00 64-bit corrupts the /var/adm/wtmp file. The problem is with the utmp structure itself. When building with 32-bit compilation flags, the size of the utmp structure is 60 bytes. When building under 64-bit, the size is 72 bytes. The size difference is due to structure alignment and using basic types whose size changes depending

Building 3.4p1 on HP-UX 11.00, gcc, zlib 1.1.4, OpenSSL 0.9.6d
Hey folks, I am having a devil of a time compiling 3.4p1 on HP-UX 11.00. I'm running gcc 2.95.2, OpenSSL 0.9.6d, and zlib 1.1.4. I have two questions, but here's the first... I am getting the dreaded: *** zlib missing - please install first or check config.log *** error when running configure, no matter what options I give it. --with-zlib doesn't help at all - I've tried it
