Possible bug? scp attempts to forward ports...
I've been having a recurring problem using ssh and then scp. I've got 2
machines, client A and server B. I'm using OpenSSH on both. I've got a
port-forward from server B in client A's "~/.ssh/config" file. Normally I
login to server B via ssh from client A. With this session open (and a port
forwarded) sometimes I go to a different terminal on client A and

OpenSSH socket forwarding in ssh_config file?
The ssh command line's -L option has supported socket forwarding for a
while, but as far as I can tell the ssh_config file does not, even in
7.9.
Is this planned? Or is there some reason this isn't reasonable? Oris
there some syntax I've missed?
Cheers,

Protocol 2 remote forwarding patch
Hi !
Here's a patch to add remote port forwarding support (protocol 2) for
openssh. I have tried to test that it works like it should but a more
thorough testing is needed. This patch adds both client/server support.
The patch should be applied to openssh-2.1.1p4 source tree.
Also included is a PortForwarding sshd_config option, new ./configure
option --disable-forwarding that should make it

Equivalent ssh_config setting for "ssh -N"
Dear OpenSSH developers,
Is there an equivalent ssh_config setting for the command line option
ssh -N ...
?
I want to connect to a server that doesn't provide an interactive
shell but allows for port forwarding only. I'd love to configure
this into my ~/.ssh/config as follows:
Host foo
Hostname ...
Port ...
User ...
LocalForward ...

Re: Poor network performance
Hello,
I have no queue configured on tap and veth devices, quest type is of course KVM and I’m using virtio model for VM’s NIC.
What we found is that on Xenial (where performance is poor) during test ovs-vswitchd process is using 100% CPU and there are some messages in ovs logs:

Equivalent ssh_config setting for "ssh -N"
Oops. That's -T. From the man page, it doesn't really look like there's an ssh_config option for -N.

scp remote path specification
Hello,
in order to use "scp", the scp binary has to be in the compile-time
default path on the remote host. For some users (like root), we try to
avoid this since scp may be on a network file system (AFS/NFS), and we
don't want to hang root's session on network outages.
Would a patch to scp be acceptable in the main tree that allows to set
the path to remote scp explicity,

Can't get LocalForward to work when using ControlPath
Hello All--
First, thanks for ControlPath/ControlMaster. It's very handy, and
ControlMaster=autoask is just what i wanted!
I'm having difficulty with a common use case, however. I want to
LocalForward on secondary connections using an already-established
ControlPath. From what i can tell, the second ssh connection doesn't
report any errors, but silently ignores the supplied

Help with short time series
Dear R-list,
I have a statistical problem with the comparison of two short time-series of
density data in an ecological framework. I have to compare two short time
series (5 years, one value for each year) of species density data (it is the
density of fish in two different streams) to test if the two means of the
five densities are significantly different, so basically if the two mean

Kernel paging request error
Reposting from xen-users (no response)
I''m having a problem with: http://pastebin.com/CuGHqwhy
It occurs on the reboot, but sometimes, when I try to start manually one of
my machines. Sometime, one of the machines does not want to start
permanently and I have to reinstall/restore it.
This problem comes for me randomly, but maybe there is a trigger.

restricing port forwarding ports server-side
I'm curious as to whether or not there is a way to restrict forwarded ports
server side. For instance, I'm running an IRC server and am allowing users
to connect via ssh forwarding (so I can take advantange of using openssh's
public key method for authentication). Each client I tell to setup their
~/.ssh/config in a certain way, but the relevant line is:

OHLC Plot with EMA in it
Hi there
I have some timeseries data which I plot in a OHLC Plot. In the same
plot I'd like to have the EMA of this timeseries. I tried to add the
EMA point to OHLC with lines(), but this doesn't work. Has anyone an
idea how to handle it?
