[PATCH] Caching passphrase in ssh-add.
The patch below does two things. 1. If invoked with no arguments, attempt to add both RSA and DSA keys. 2. Remember the last successful passphrase and attempt to use it on subsequent key files which are added. Note that the latter part of the patch extends the period of time during which the passphrase is held in clear text in the ssh-add process, but doesn't introduce any _new_

Private key files closed twice --
===== I believe that each private key file read is closed twice as load_private_key(filename, ...) fd = open(filename, ...) ... load_private_key_rsa1(fd, ...) ... load_private_key_ssh2(fd, ...) ... close(fd); Unfortunately, "load_private_key_rsa1" and "load_private_key_ssh2" also close the file. It would simplest to remove the `close()'s in the rsa2 and ssh2

RSA_verify question on OpenSSH Client w/ OpenSSL0.9.6a
Using OpenSSH 2.3.1 client and OpenSSL 0.9.6a When trying to ssh to OpenSSH server of higher versions SSH-1.99-OpenSSH_2.5.2p2 or such, I see error in RSA key exchange: RSA_verify(..)routine. I see: error at:int RSA_verify(int dtype, unsigned char *m, unsigned int m_len, unsigned char *sigbuf, unsigned int siglen, RSA *rsa) { int i,ret=0,sigtype; unsigned char *p,*s;

Use of non-user readable (null password) private keys
Executive summary: Why can I not have a private key which is `public' ? Gory details .... I'm new to openssh. I've been using ssh for years. However, I'm in the process of investigating RH 7.* (0.91 at the moment) and am wanting to be as `standard' as possible, so trying openssh. I looked on http://www.openssh.com/list.html but could not find a list for "general

dsa keys & ssh-agent
Ok... I just kludged dsa key support into the ssh-agent that comes with openssh-2.1.1p4. Its ugly and conforms to no standard (I could find no signifigant mention of it in the IETF drafts) but it does seem to work. If anybodys interested in it, I'll clean up the code and post. For now I'm going to sleep. Oh yeah.. thanks Damien Miller for pointing out that SSL add_all_algorithms bit,

SCP Problems.
Just added myself to the list, and I saw that somebody else had the same problem that I have, namely that I can't get "scp" to work. The similarities I could see was that we both use linux as the platform for issuing the command "scp", however I also use linux on the destination. The other similarity is that we both are using strictly version 2 of the ssh protocol. I've

SCO Openserver 5.0.5 ssh2 problem.
I just finished compiling openssh-2.1.0p3 on a SCO openserver system. I generated the keys fine and genereated the host keys both rsa and dsa without problems. ssh (version1) works great. I tried to use ssh (version 2) and after being prompted to login, it quits. I am attaching a script file of... ssh -v -2 root at sco to see if you can find the problem. Let me know how I can help. 2.2.0p1 PATCH: ssh/scp/slogin will invoke ssh-askpass
Enclosed is a patch against 2.2.0p1 that teaches ssh (and therefore slogin and scp) how to invoke ssh-askpass to request a password, RSA/DSA key passphrase, or an skey challenge response. I've tested this on Linux (i386), for passwords and RSA/DSA key passphrases. I cannot easily test whether the Right Thing will happen for skey challenge responses; I would appreciate it if someone who uses

OpenSSH 2.2.0p1 + Redhat 6.2 - Problem with scp
Hi, Chances are this is me stuffing something up, but in cases its not, this is my problem. I've just installed the latest port of OpenSSH on a few Redhat 6.2 machines. That is version 2.2.0p1. Everything compiles ok, and using the supplied init and pam files I got openssh working without to much difficulty. In fact it was easier than the commerical versions. I can use ssh to login to remote

W2KSP2 Profile and 2.2.2 hell...
I recently got suckered into upgrading to SP2 by Microsoft's auto update program. Since this broke profiles I upgraded to 2.2.2. In the process of upgrading I set up the Profiles share and tried to move my profile into it. Unfortunately W2K insisted on trying to log in with the profile still in my home directory where nt acl support was not disabled. In an attempt to coerce it into looking

I'm in ADSI hell...
Folks, I am in the process of fighting my way through my first foray into ADSI phones. I have a very nice Aastra 480 from Sayson, purchased through Cylogistics. Very nice phone. However, my experience in configuring ADSI has been pure pain so far, and it's not all working yet... 1) The locking mechanism for these ADSI phones is... baroque? Arcane? Perhaps there is a reason why you would

I upgraded from 1.0.9 to 1.2.1. In 1.0.9 everything worked perfect. Now, I call in my IVR, and after navigating in menus when I get dialtone for dialing extension, Sound is choppy and I get bunch of messagess: -- Silence suppression is disabled (option_silence_suppression=0 chan->timingfd=30) -- Silence suppression is disabled (option_silence_suppression=0 chan->timingfd=30) -- Silence

having hell of the time converting away from UW
I just want to check and make sure not missing anything. I'm trying to convert a customer away from UW. unfortunately, all of the mailboxes are in MBX format (my own mistake coming back to haunt me). mailutil doesn't seem to do conversions properly. It keeps complaining about an existing copy of /mbox and only if I say to -merge append will the copy proceed. mailsync doesn't
