[2.1.1p4] utmp patch for SunOS 4.1.x
Follow-on to Charles Levert's <charles at comm.polymtl.ca> work on
utmp_write_direct.
Fixed:
-- At logout, the utmp entry is cleared. Tested on SunOS 4.1.4.
The code I added to loginrec.c is restricted to SUNOS4 pending
QA testing on other platforms.
This patch incorporates the work done by Charles Levert on

Questions about using sieve
I am trying to filter my imap mail sent to my phone by using sieve. Currently
everything is set up and works well using mbox and sendmail as the lda. I
have re-installed dovecot with sieve included and updated dovecot.conf, which
gives
# dovecot -n

ssl_cert_file: /etc/ssl/dovecot/server.pem

no network in domain 0
I am new to xen and trying to get the primary domain working properly before I
create a new one. I am using the Gentoo unstable sources (2.6.16-rc5) and xen
3.0.1 and the kernel boots Ok and eth0 is activated. At this point the
network is active and I can ping. Then I shutdown net.eth0 and start xend.
This restarts net.eth0 and does some other stuff. Now every thing looks
normal (ifconfig,

How to logoff a session with dovecot?
I use dovecot to push email to my SE P1i and it works very well. :) However, I
have two email accounts set up on the phone, one using my domain for GPRS and
public WiFi and one using my WLAN address for use at home, the idea being I
don't want to pay for GPRS data at home. The trouble is the GPRS account
remains logged on and I get the mail in both inboxes. There is no option in
the email

Phone cannot receive mail suddenly
Starting at midnight Feb 1 my phone can no longer fetch mail from Dovecot. It
endlessly connects and reconnects as you can see in the log below. I have
restarted dovecot, the phone, deleted /home/robinmail/mail, all to no avail.
I have turned on debug output but it does not tell me anymore. I can connect
and see the folder using the KMail imap client. Any idea how I can proceed
with this? The

Speex on Nokia 6600
Hmm, what these instructions do? (I know nothing about ARMs; I have some
knowlege about x86 assemblers and programming). Cant we use pure standard
C++ or Java? Does Speex work with fixedpoint math? (As far as I know Java
on 6600 has no builtin floatingpoint, there is emulation class somewhere
on the net, but it is probably painfully slow.) I do not know if this
processor has builtin

Compiling drac.c on a 64 bit system
I have just installed dovecot and want to set up the drac interface. However,
when I compile drac.c I get the following link errors; anybody know what the
right compile options are for a 64 bit system? I have a Gentoo Linux system
using the amd64 architecture.
gcc -Wall -W -shared -fPIC -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I$dovecot -I$dovecot/src/lib

converting lat-long coordinates to Albers Conical Equal Area coordinates
####################################################################################
We have used maptools to construct state, county, township, census-tract,
and zipcode
level R maps with an Albers Conical Equal Area projection. We would like
to be able to
plot the location of weather stations or other point locations on the
maps. The data
the point locations are in latitude-longitude units

ssh through proxy (was: prng_cmds/init_rng() question/patch)
(Sorry for being so OT, but I'm currently experiencing this inconvenience
and want to be more productive than doing a CVS update at home and getting
to the office.)
So, what you are suggesting is that I setup a squid proxy on a box outside
the firewall on port 80 and use MindTerm to connect via that? Until this
past weekend when the network was "redone", we had a proxy we could

AJAX data grid for Rails?
Has anyone used an AJAX data grid with Rails?
I am rebuilding a copy of the venture source web site as a first ruby/
rails exercise. If anyone has used a javascript data grid with
Rails, I would appreciate sample code, or notes on your experience.
The controller action would presumably communicate with the data grid
component running on the browser by extracting data from a relational

OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 port to BSDI BSD/OS
BSD/OS 4.2 comes with OpenSSH 2.1.1p4, patched to support BSDI's
authentication library. However, BSDI's patches have several
problems:
1. They don't run the approval phase, so they can allow users to login
who aren't supposed to be able to.
2. They don't patch configure to automatically detect the BSDI auth
system, so they're not ready to use in a general portable

compiling 0.62.3 for SunOS 4.1.4 and Solaris 2.6
Just a quick report on compiling R 0.62.3 for SunOS 4.1.4 and Solaris
2.6 (both with gcc 2.7.2.something), in hopes that it'll be useful to
someone.
