Has anyone complied Wine onto a Sparc (Suse 7.1.)?
The actual machine I have is a SPARCStation20. I know I can't d/l the binaries, but I've heard that it's possible to compile the source. I'd like to hear from anyone that's accomplished this feat, with, if possible some pointers on how to do it. I've never yet compiled any source code, (I find it difficult to grasp the ins-and-outs of it ("./configure" this,

Remote -> remote scp not working
Hello, Using openssh 2.1.1p1 I have tried to use scp to copy a file from one remote system directly to another remote system - e.g. 'scp -i ./ecp eros:jhf alice:jhf', so the file jhf is copied from the remote system eros to the remote system alice via an intermidate system (the one where the command is issued from). The key is in the file ecp. Using protocol 1 it doesn't seem to

Control-c not work under openssh?
Hello, I'm using openSSH 2.1.1p2 from my Linux PC to Solaris 7 and 8 systems (using 2.1.1p1). No problem, except that if I run a program on the Sun, having used slogin to connect to it, and then try and issue a control-c to break into the program it seems to be ignored. I can control-z and then kill the suspended job, but I'd prefer control-c. I tried setting '-e none' on the

Openssh-2.1.1p1 and solaris 7/8
Hello, I just installed the above openssh onto a Sun Solaris 7 and Solaris 8 system. No problem with that. However, I now seem to get some rubbish processed when I login with slogin. An example: Last login: Tue Jun 13 12:31:27 2000 from jhorne.csd.plymo:tJ` ^[[?1;2c Telnet logs in okay, but just shows 'Last login...jhorne.csd.plymo'. This seems to get passed to the shell, which it of

*** Asterisk Sunday News: Gone Fishing...
Spring is back in the Stockholm area. After a few day's worth winter re-runs, the sun is back and night-time temperature is at least 5 degrees celsius. Time to move out all my annual flowers and prepare the garden for summer. Sweden is famous for our annual five week holidays - by law. From june to late august, it's almost impossible to make any business decision, since there's always

Still Having Problems With Password Authentication for 1.9.18p7
I'm having problems still with password authentication for 1.9.18p7. Samba only recognizes the root password only!!!! I thought password authentication was fixed in version 1.9.18p5. Anyway, here's output of the problems I'm facing: After starting smb and nmb using root's ID the following test was successful: 3 root@Sun-E3000:/usr/local/samba/private ==> smbclient -L

bug: sample( x, size, replace = TRUE, prob= skewed.probs) produces uniform sample
When `length( skewed.probs ) > 200' uniform samples are generated in R-devel. R-3.5.1 behaves as expected. `epsilon` can be a lot bigger than illustrated and still the uniform distribution is produced. Chuck > set.seed(123) > > epsilon <- 1e-10 > > ## uniform to 200 then small > p200 <- prop.table( rep( c(1, epsilon), c(200, 999-200))) > ## uniform to 201

IRIX patches
The attached patch adds support for array sessions, project id's, and system audit trail id. Arrays are available at least on UNICOS in addition to IRIX. The project id & audit stuff is IRIX specific. Otherwise, the IRIX support in the current OpenSSHp looks good. (There were some utmp/wtmp oddities, but I think they've gone away in the latest release.) -- Mike Stone --------------

Problems with smbpasswd
I've compiled the latest version of samba (1.9.18p4) and set up password encryption (per instructions in the ENCRYPTIONS.txt file). Setting root's smbpasswd worked with no problems. I set another user (me) with an smbpasswd. Tried "smbclient -L '\\hostname\wwinzer'". The output is the following: 68 wwinzer@Sun-E3000:~ ==> smbclient '\\champusa.com\wwinzer'

Free sitting
Hello, How would you implement free sitting ? The idea is to offer teachers the ability to share the same desk and hardphone : for instance, Mr Foo is teaching mechanics on mondays while Mr Bar is teaching english on wednesdays. Each has his own extension but use the same hardphone. 1. Does a program check a calendar or database somewhere to allocate a phone to a user (as teachers schedules are

call queue help
Guys I am having some serious issues with my call queue and Management is breathing down my neck pretty bad, and I am running out of ideas. I have a single queue for my tech support department. I originally was using the AgentCallbackLogin for them and it tested out great on our testing weekends, but it hasn't worked out since. It would only let one of them take calls at a time, no matter

Keepalived - spurious failovers
Hello, We are using CentOS 6.6 and keepalived 1.2.13 on two servers for failover, no load-balancing. Failover is governed by the NIC being present, and the Apache and Tomcat processes being present. Both servers are configured as 'EQUAL' (not master/backup). An initial priority of 100 is set, and if a process or NIC fails, then this is reduced by 60 - causing a lower priority to be seen
