[RFC PATCH] Add SHA1 support
From: Sebastian Andrzej Siewior <sebastian at breakpoint.cc> This is a huge all-in-one patch and deserves a little cleanup and splitting. However, I wanted to get it out here for some feedback. My primar motivation to use SHA1 for checksumming (by default) instead of MD5 is not the additional security bits but performance. On a decent x86 box the SHA1 performance is almost the same as

FIPS 140-2 OpenSSL(2007) patches
Hi, I am happy to (re)send a set of patches for compiling OpenSSH 4.7p1 with FIPS 140-2 OpenSSL. These are based on previously reported patches by Steve Marquess <marquess at ieee.org> and Ben Laurie <ben at algroup.co.uk>, for ver. OpenSSH 3.8. Note that these patches are NOT OFFICIAL, and MAY be used freely by anyone. Issues [partially] handled: SSL FIPS Self test. RC4,

sshd crashes (w/ skey)
Hi! There is a situation when sshd will crash, but it might be rather hard to reproduce. I'll try to explain the setup :) S/KEY is compiled and installed (taken from http://www.sparc.spb.su/solaris/skey/ ) on Linux box (kernel 2.4.0). Then, OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 is compiled with skey support. It all works fine (patch has been applied too, which fixes skey issue found in November). Now, for the

cfservd crashing on 7.0
Hi, I just moved my cfservd (a part of sysutils/cfengine) from a 6.2 server to a 7.0 server. Ever since, cfservd crashes regularly. The backtrace is below, although obviously it is missing a lot. If anyone has clues or suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. # gdb /usr/local/sbin/cfservd cfservd.core GNU gdb 6.1.1 [FreeBSD] Copyright 2004 Free Software Foundation, Inc. GDB is free

Bug in dovecot 2.2.5: segfault due to bad alignment
Take a look at the sources, hmac.h declares struct hmac_context: struct hmac_context { char ctx[HMAC_MAX_CONTEXT_SIZE]; char ctxo[HMAC_MAX_CONTEXT_SIZE]; const struct hash_method *hash; }; If compiled for a 32 bit virtual address space, this has an alignment requirement of 4 due to the hash pointer. In line 171 of auth-token.c, we have following

[PATCH] Generalize HMAC implementation
Hello everyone and Timo in particular, about a year ago I implemented a SHA-1 variant of the HMAC(-MD5) present in Dovecot. I had always disliked this a bit, because it replicates a lot of code. This patch generalizes the HMAC function to take a hash_method struct as parameter, and changes existing code which uses the "old" HMAC function to use this new one. I'm not really sure

imap-login hanging when firewall blocks ssl handshaking
imap-login processes are hanging (using 100% of CPU) when connected from a client that is partially blocked by a firewall. It appears that imap-login is stuck in a loop trying to complete an ssl handshake. imap-login is working fine for other clients not blocked by the firewall (including localhost). This is dovecot 2.1.10 under Mac OS X 10.8.2 (compiled from sources); the firewall is Little

I have set my quota limit to 2MB and my test-box is 3MB. here is my config: dovecot.conf: #ssl_cert_file = /etc/pki/dovecot/certs/myserver.example.com.crt #ssl_key_file = /etc/pki/dovecot/private/myserver.example.com.key #ssl_ca_file = /etc/pki/dovecot/certs/ca-bundle.crt
