ssh hangs or gives Segmentation fault
Details of installation attached. Effect: when I build and test (with full path names) ssh in the openssh... directory, everything works fine. When I "install" it as per attached file into a test-directory and run it from there, there are 2 phenomena: either it just hangs, eating 96% of CPU or it dies with a Segmentation fault (this is what happens most often) Help needed

Problem building openssh-4.3p2 under cygwin and windows XP
I am trying to build openssh-4.3p2 portable source under Cygwin running under Windows XP SP2. I have installed Cygwin 1.5.19-4 along with these significant packages (installed using the cygwin setup program): gcc 3.4.4-1 minires-devel 1.00-1 openssl 0.9.8a-1 openssl-devel 0.9.8a-1 openssl097 0.9.7i-1 tcp_wrappers 7.6-1 zlib 1.2.3-1 I used the instructions in openssh-4.3p2/contrib./cygwin/README

More patches to fix NetBSD compiling
Unfortunately, the login.c changes after pre-19 have exposed some more NetBSD-centric problems concerning the lack of several fields in struct utmp. Here's another set of patches to fix NetBSD compiling (although they may also help some other UNIXes as well). Thanks, David --- configure.in.orig Mon Dec 27 09:09:05 1999 +++ configure.in Mon Dec 27 09:13:39 1999 @@ -264,6 +264,16 @@

More Slack7 heartbreak.
All line number are approximate, but most likely w/in 10 lines of the OpenSSH 1.2.3 tarball. I unpacked the tarball, and did a ./configure;make;make install and now I've had some problems. :-) OK, I've tracked down lots of goofy stuff w/ slack7 and OpenSSH I've got a couple of questions. What is /dev/tty and why does ssh try to open it to read the password instead of stdin?(this cause

login_get_lastlog - nss enviornment - works in shell env, doesn't work when sshd calls it.
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello to every one! Maybe this is not exactly the right place, but I don't know where to ask, so... I have a FreeBSD-6-STABLE machine, setuped with custom nss lib which reads from pgsql database. It seems to be working just fine except that I can't login trought ssh, when trying the normal method. When I do $>ssh host.com tcsh I get

Long awaited round 1 of NeXT patches.
This is about 90% of the core work. I omited a few files from the patch set since they are basicly small blocks of #ifndef HAVE_NEXT/#endif to get it to compile. Daimen, feel free to let me know what you applied and what your rejecting and why.. so I can work on cleaning things up. Andre, Only thing of note you may want to look into is NeXT does not use "ut_user" in it's lastlog.

Multiple SA in the same IPSec tunnel
Hi, When a IPSec tunnel is established between two peers, I understand that the "normal" situation is to have in a given moment two SAs, one for each direction of the tunnel. However, in one of my tunnels (peer P1 running GNU/Linux with setkey and racoon; peer P2 is a Cisco router) there is a large number (around 19) of SAs established (this has been observed in P1 with

OpenSSH 2.1.1p1 on SCO Unixware 7.1.0
Yo All! I was just trying out OpenSSH 2.1.1p1 on SCO Unixware 7.1.0. The "configure" dies. See below. This seems to be the problem: if test -d "$f" -o -e "$f" ; then conf_lastlog_location=$f fi test is expecting a "shell option" after the "-o". If I run "/bin/sh ./configure" it fails. If I run "/bin/bash ./configure it

OpenSSH on HP-UX 11 with TCB
Hi, an updated and more civilized post (to my one and only previous one) on getting OpenSSH to work on HP-UX 11 using the TCB. I used the HP ANSI C compiler. Firstly, I needed to download, compile and install OpenSSL, EGD and ZLib. Specific issues: configure did not handle hpux 11 login.c did not compile makefile did not use $(CFLAGS) sshd did not compile (pam issues), I wanted to use

Error when compiling for Solaris7
I cannot make openssh on Solaris. The 'make' fails on the first file. Here are the commands and the output. Essentially, I pre-built EGD, SSL, and ran: configure make make errors are listed at the bottom. Can anyone help me get this compiled on Solaris7? openssh 2.9p1 on Solaris 2.6 with AFS
hello, I'm attempting to compile 2.9p1 on Solaris 2.6 with AFS support. I am not using Kerberos aside from AFS. The installation notes state that Kerberos IV is required by AFS. Since the Kerberos libraries and header files do not appear to be distributed with AFS, I downloaded and installed ftp://ftp.pdc.kth.se/pub/krb/src/krb4-1.0.8.tar.gz ./configure --sysconfdir=/etc/ssh

New chroot patch, for 2.1.1p4
Hi there, everybody; As promised, here's the new version for my chroot patch. It applies cleanly over OpenSSH 2.1.1p4, and I'm attaching 2 versions: - openssh-2.1.1p4-chroot.patch-wc, is the chroot patch plus a "--with-chroot" patch for the "configure" script. - openssh-2.1.1p4-chroot.patch, is the same without the "--with-chroot" part. Have fun,

2.2.0p1 chroot patch
Hi there, everyone; Attached to this mail is the 2.2.0p1 version of my chroot patch. For those of you interested, my usual warning: This is NOT plug&pray. You'll have to build a whole binaries/libs/conf files tree within the new root. (it's just like the "classic" anonymous ftp behaviour) Configure with "configure --with-chroot" to use. Regards; RC --

sshd Pam problem for Redhat 6.2
Hi, There was another message about this from Darren Evans. I am hoping that the logs from below might shed additional light on this problem (kernel version 2.2.14). I'm running Redhat 6.2, openssh-2.1.1p2.tar.gz, openssl-0.9.5a.tar.gz. I haven't tried to recompile with /usr/src/linux pointing to 2.2.12 per Darren's solution - that's my next thing to do, or perhaps compile
