subject: ssh non-intuitive logging setting (priority names). I installed openssh 2.3.0p1 on Solaris 7 for x86 box and sshd worked fine. However, somehow the logging of connection and disconnection to sshd was not recorded as I wished. Time to investigate. On a host where sshd from data-fellows once ran, the log was recorded with auth.info level. After trying to modify sshd_config, I found that

Why openssh newer than 2.9.9 doesn't send SIGTERM and SIGHUP to child process?
Hi, I search in archive list if there any reason why is removed in openssh newer than 2.9.9 from function 'void session_close_by_channel(int id, void *arg)' sending of SIGTEMR and SIGHUP signals to child as was in 2.9.9 version? See follow sniped code from 2.9.9 sources: ---- openssh-2.9.9/session.c ---------------------------------------- void session_close_by_channel(int id, void

[Lutz.Jaenicke@aet.TU-Cottbus.DE: 2.9p1: HP-UX 10.20 utmp/wtmp handling broken?]
Hi! I am resending the following message about problems with utmp handling. * In the meantime I had some request in private mail from people asking whether I have new information. * The problem is still persistant in 2.9p2. * My own new investigations show, that the problem only appears with protocol 2, not with protocol 1, I therefore only started to note it when protocol 2 became the

sunos 4.1.4 Makefile and regex.[ch] fix
Hi, At the office, there is an old ss5 box running sunos 4.1.4. I have configured openssh using gcc on this machine. In doing so, I found a few compilation and configuration problems. 1. Compilation Problem. SunOS 4.1.4 doesn't have regex.h header nor the entry points regex.c is supposed to offer. Solution. Copy regex.c and regex.h from, say, GNU awk distribution to the openssh directory

Creating a reverse socket often (not always) fails.
Hi, I'm a little stuck on getting reverse connection working reliably from embedded devices running dropbear 0.51 to Ubuntu 8.x openssh. Connecting to local reverse socket often fails (not always) with "ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host" My devices can reverse ssh and open a port on my server always, but often when the server is creating the reverse

Thanks for testing the release. Overall the test results look decent with a couple exceptions. You also have a few CBE failures that I am not seeing. What version of xcode do you have installed? Can you send me the following files? SingleSource/Regression/C/Output/2008-01-07-LongDouble.* SingleSource/Regression/C/Output/PR1386.* Thanks, Tanya On Jan 26, 2008, at 6:43 AM, Takanori Ishikawa

OpenSSH solaris: bad return code after exec of remote command
Hi OpenSSH developers, I am using openSSH (now 2.9.9p2, but prob occurs in 2.9p2 also) to execute commands on a remote machine which outputs data to stdout then pipes it to another invocation of ssh which connects back to the first machine in the same way, where it starts a program to read and store the output from the command on the second machine. I am using the "command" option in

Processes left unkilled (portable)
I just came across this problem (on Linux, using OpenSSH 2.9.9p2). Run ssh <host> "tail -f <file> | grep <regexp>" Let it connect, and then hit ^C. If you look on <host>, the tail process has been orphaned, but grep, which was its parent, and a direct child of sshd, is gone. It appears that the immediate child of the sshd (grep) is sent a SIGTERM (on line

does partial option work over ssh?
Dear All, I am hoping that someone might be able to help me here. I have been trying to use rsync to pick up a half-finished file copy and continue from that point, rather than restarting, but can't seem to get it right. Running rsync 2.6.7 and OpenSSH_3.6.1p2 on RHEL3; pc-87 (see below) is rsync 2.6.3 and (OpenSSH_3.9p1, OpenSSL 0.9.7a Feb 19 2003) on RHEL4. This is what I believe SHOULD

Solaris 2.6 problem
I was building OpenSSH on a Solaris 2.6 machine and found a small problem using scp after it was built. The scp command coming from a remote machine to the OpenSSH machine results in an error message of "sh: scp: not found". The start-up script for sshd sets PATH to include /usr/local/bin where scp resides. I also tried adding an "export PATH" in case that was the problem, but
