status of openssh-2
Hi, My name is Stefan Mangard and I plan to implement an extension to ssh as a final project in a cryptography class. Since I want to use an open source of ssh, I decided to use the openssh implementation. I am currently working with openssh-1.2.3, but I'd also like to implement my extension for protocol 2, I wanted to ask you how far the development of the implementation of openssh-2 is.

"ksh: scp: not found"
I upgraded a compiled version of ssh-1.2.27 to a swinstalled depot of OpenSSH_2.5.1p1 on HPUX-11.00. I created links in /usr/local/bin/<ssh program> pointing to /opt/openssh2/bin/<ssh program>. Ssh works. Scp does not. HP support does not support ssh. Below the line you will find the output of a verbose scp command from the server to it self.

OpenSSH with slow login
Hi, I have installed Openssh on a HP-UX 11.00 and I am having a problem. It lasts 5 minutes to login, after I enter my login and password. I try to connect from a Windows machine having a Tera Term SSH client to the HP UX with the OpenSSH server ? Why does it take so long time (5 minutes) to establish a connection from a remote machine to this openssh server ? When I do Telnet to the same

RES: OpenSSH with slow login
I gueess it is not a DNS problem, because either using name or IP, I have always the problem. I guess the problem is that I am using ssh on inetd.conf (sshd -i), so It has to generate a key each time I start a session. Where is the tarball for Solaris
I'm trying to install openssh-1.2.2 on a Solaris 7 box. I've downloaded the file openssh-1.2.2.tar.gz from ftp://thermo.stat.ncsu.edu/pub/openssh/files/ and http://the.wiretapped.net/security/cryptography/ssh/OpenSSH/files/. neither of theses tar's include the configure program as referenced in the INSTALL file. Where can I obtain the full distribution that will build on a Soalris 7

keyboard-interactive authentication mehtod?
Hi all, I noticed that support for the keyboard-interactive user authentication method is mentioned on the "todo" list in the README.openssh2 file. Is anybody actively working on this? Thanks, Mike -- Michael Kiernan mkiernan at avantgo.com +1-650-638-7581

disable chan_skinny and chan_oss
How do I disable chan_skinny and chan_oss? I think chan_skinny is associated with Cisco hardware, since I don't have any I don't need this channel. I just want to get rid of those warning messages at start up. -- #Joseph

Transferred calls CDRs
Hello! I have been doing some tests with call transfers and I have been looking at the CDRs that Asterisk generates. Scenario 1: A calls B B answers and does a blind transfer to C (using # key) C answers and talks with A Scenario 2: A calls B B answers and does an attended transfer do C (using the phone's transfer key) C answers, B hangs up, and C talks with A For scenario 1, the CDR shows

How to initiate a two-party call from within Asterisk
The desired result is that user A's phone rings; when he picks it up, user B is dialled, and user A's channel is connected to that. (This is to be a back-end for a web-based address book.)

Authentication best practice
I am working with a simple "follow-me"-style service: rather than have something that rings several phones in turn, the user dials a number (in the present implementation, unique to that user) to register his presence at a particular extension. What's the standard way to protect this from unauthorised use? Voicemail()-style, where the user has to enter a PIN once the connection is

Dialplan help: hang up incoming call and call the number back
Hi, I'm trying to setup Asterisk so that: 1. I call a specific number that goes to a defined extension from my phone (an external line). 2. Asterisk notes my phone number (the CLID) and hangs up without picking up the call. 3. Asterisk initiates a call to my phone and prompts me for a passkey. 4. Asterisk validates the passkey and lets me enter another number (say FOO). 5. Asterisk dials FOO

Asterisk sharing a line with POTS handsets: how to interoperate cleanly?
I now have an OpenVox A400P and it is working well. Thanks to Ade Vickers for the recommendation, which I second. However, I need to make a slow transition between a conventional multiple-extension setup and a full VoIP network on these premises. So at the moment the Asterisk box shares the PSTN connection with several conventional analogue handsets. The desired result for an incoming call is

port forwarding
Ok, so this is not a users-list, but i really don't know where to ask. Maybe a future openssh-unix-users at mindrot.org will take this kind of problems... :-) So, i'm trying to forward a POP3 connection over a SSH tunnel, using openssh-1.2.3 both on server and on client. My host is atlanta.rds.ro and the mailserver is mail.rds.ro. I did like this: ssh -L 110:mail.rds.ro:110 mail.rds.ro
